| This works very well as is in a lightweight fabric like silk dupioni, however, I tried to make one with a velveteen bodice and a taffeta skirt with a sheer overskirt. The skirt on this pattern is VERY full and it was a disaster! To fix the problem, I recut the skirt but took about a quarter of an inch off the fold and a quarter of an inch off on either side of the points on the pattern. (I just folded the pattern at these points.) The skirt is still very full, but not quite as bulky. I enlarged this pattern for Kitty and did the same thing with the skirt in cotton and it worked well. - Sylvia Christianson |
