ABOUT THIS SITE:
This site has been maintained on a volunteer basis as a free service to the jazz community in the region. As of January 2008, a new calendar is being provided by the Baltimore Jazz Alliance at www. baltimorejazzcalendar.com. So at this time, I am not updated this site. However, depending on how the new jazz calendar takes shape, a need for this site may evolve. Please contact me (Liz at efixsen@yahoo.com) if you have suggestions! I may extend the coverage into more of Maryland.

RELEASE OF BALTIMORE REAL BOOK ON FRIDAY, NOV.16, 2007:
The Baltimore Jazz Alliance has released the first ever “Baltimore Real Book” of 50 original compositions by Baltimore-area jazz musicians who are members of the BJA. President Mark Osteen and his band Cold Spring Jazz Quartet headlined the evening, with some of the composers sitting in to play their own compositions. Contact Mark at mlcost33@comcast.net, or call 410-339-7721 if you’d like a copy of this new compilation – and if you’d be interested in contributing to the NEXT “Baltimore Real Book.”
NEW JAM SESSION:
Pianist Tom Reyes is hosting a new jam session at Bobby’s Jazz Club, 1140 S. Paca Street, Baltimore. This can become a regular event if there is enough support. So come out with your horn, your axe, your voice, or whatever – no sit-in charge, and no cover.
