I was full of the cold leading up to the Finnish round of the World Enduro Championship. Last year in Finland was literally a ride down the dual-carriageway between tests so I thought this year would also be easy and that I'd be allright. Little did I know that this year Finland was going to be the toughest WEC in the calender. Rain leading up to the event made the course very wet and slippery and the whole course was off-road. Times weren't too tight but tight enough to keep you going all day for 7.5hours without more than 3-4 mins rest at a check. If you got stuck or had a minor problem you'd more than likely lose time. At the end of saturday I was completely knackered. The tough course and the long tests in deep sand had taken their toll on me. I finished a lowly 12th behind Edward Jones for the first time at an enduro this year. With a poor night's sleep in Richard Hay's tent I didn't fancy my chances on Sunday. I finished 12th again but this time I beat Edward so it wasn't so bad. Considering how rough I was feeling it was a big relief to finish this event on time and in the points.
