The Crazy Adventures of Taro the Pufferfish and Ayaka!

Hello! This is me TARO the Pufferfish (I am the red one) and my friend AYAKA who is a pink something (any guesses what she is? Please tell Miss Barnett)

We're here as we are travelling Japan and good friends of Miss Barnett, who asked us to try and send some pictures as we travel! Hope you like them.

Now sometimes it's not safe to travel on your own in places, so we travel together like this: (but that's only because I am a pufferfish and can do this)

Look, AYUKA is waving at you! Will you wave back at her?

We are backpacking around. Which means we travel with a big bag on our backs. You can see us here relaxing on a bench in Tokyo - which is Japan's capital city.

Can you see our bag at the bottom of the picture, it's a bit big. I think AYUKA packed too many clothes!

Has anyone there been to Japan? Does anyone know where it is? It's in the far east! And is known as the land of the rising sun! (Because the sun rises in the east every morning!

How do you get around at home? When we are backpacking we use all sorts of transport, like buses and trains and tubes (also known as the metro or the underground).

Here is a picture of us on a japanese train, can you see all the japanese people? Look in the background, there is even a picture of a japanese superhero! (I think it means he uses the trains too)

Here we are in a Tokyo street. This is just around the corner of a very large shopping centre called Sunshine. Everyone is smiling at us, as not many people see travelling fish! :)

Can anyone read any of the signs in the background? Most are in japanese which has FOUR types of written language! Be glad you only have one english. The poor japanese children have to learn how to read and write all FOUR written languages in Japan!

Everyone needs a break. So here is me TARO enjoying a nice drink in Starbucks. Do you have them in England? Well guess what flavour drink I am drinking?

Well if you thought it was mint, I'm afraid you're wrong. But I thought it was mint too! It is actually GREEN TEA which they drink in Japan. It is actually a green colour and so this is why my drink is green! It's yummy.
