Kraven`s Story
I had a gut feeling that something is not right. As if things will turn out bad at the end of the day. Curiosity filled my mind, as I entered my class with a heavy heart. I know that there was something wrong, I just don`t know the specifics. As all of my classes progressed, the heaviness is still within me. I feel like I was going to explode. But then again, maybe nothing is wrong after all. All I have to do is seize the day.
One school day ended in a breeze. And I was again in touch with my girlfriend. She walked beside me as I carried her things all the way to her car. I always made it a point to help her with her things, whenever she would be doing long walks. But this time, she hesitated on me helping her with her stuffs halfway, and instead took her bag and books, and carried it all on her own. She looked at me as if she was trying to tell me something. One thing I noticed since this morning, she wore a black, heart-shaped amulet, and she kept asking me if it suits her. Being sensitive, I just nodded my head, indicating a swift 'yes' in order not to hurt her. She tapped my shoulder and gave me a kiss as she handed me a letter. I asked her what the letter was all about. She never answered. Instead, she got in her car, and she was gone in a flash. Wondering why she never answered my simple question, I opened the envelope. And to my dismay, it was a break-up letter. The letter was simple, and short. All I saw was a bunch of goodbyes... and that was all she wrote.
Ivy`s Story
Hours passed, and he just stood there, not even saying a word. I said HELLO. He just looked at me. His eyes were trying to tell me something. He never held my hand like he used to. He just stood by the door, leaning on its frame. He acted strange... so strange as if he has gotten so cold.
I started to cry within. I got what he meant but still, doubt has clouded my mind, hoping there is still a chance. Finally, he began to speak, but only to say my name. He gave me a box, he said it was a gift. I asked him what was the gift for, but he just walked away, telling me that he was sorry. Then I was alone...
I opened the box, inside was a black, heart-shaped amulet, and a letter. I knew it would end like this, but still... I doubted, hoping for a second chance. As I read the letter, my doubt subsided. He doesn`t want me anymore, and he left me just as simple as that. For him, it was simple, but for me, it was NOT.
United by Fate
The night was born with a shimmering flare of moonlight. Every hearts were prepared for the night of the prom. Each person dressed in their best outfits, cloaked with their seetest scents, and armed with confidence. Everyone was prepared for the prom except for the two people who just got broken hearted at the very same day.
Kraven told his friends that he won`t be attending the prom. His curious dad remarked "Hey! Why are you still here? Aren`t you going to the prom?" The boy answered decisively "No dad, I decided to stay..." His dad knew there was a problem. He approached Kraven and gave him some money. "Hey son, its not the end of the world you see? Now go anywhere you want and have some time for yourself, but don`t stay out so late okay?" Kraven took the money and his dad`s advice and went to the nearest mall.
The mall was kind of empty. Not literally though. But the boy never expected to see any schoolmate since everybody was going to the prom. As he went to Mcdonald`s, he purchased a Bigmac meal for dinner and went straight ahead to the no smoking area. The fastfood restaurant was crowded as usual. But Kraven managed to share a seat with Ivy whom he recognized as his schoolmate.
"Is this seat taken?" the boy asked smiling. The girl shook her head saying "Go ahead, I wasn`t expecting for someone." "Thanks!" the boy said as he sat down and started eating. "So..." the girl interrupted. "You didn`t join the prom too?" Kraven looked at the girl in the eye and nodded. "I just came from a break-up this afternoon, so I decided not to go to the prom. I just don`t feel like it." Ivy looked at Kraven and paused for a while. Kraven returned the girl`s question. "It seems like we had a lot of things in common, perhaps we should talk about it." Ivy said with a smile. "It seems like we are together tonight for some reason. As if we were united by fate." She added. Kravem looked at Ivy and smiled asking "United by fate?" Ivy nodded her head and told Kraven all about her break-up. Kraven looked at Ivy and agreed saying "Perhaps we really are united by fate."
