Customize your visit in any combination you choose.  Here are two sample itineraries that offer the opportunity to experience something of Egypt's many faces.

Cairo, Bahariya, Siwa, Alexandria, Cairo, Minia/Middle Egypt, Abydos & Dendara, Luxor and the East Delta

Day 1   Arrival

Day 2  The Citadel of Saladin, including Mosques of Mohamed Ali, an-Nasir Mohamed, Gawhara Palace

Day 3  Giza:  The great pyramid, Great Sphinx, mortuary and valley temples, private tombs of nobles of the Old Kingdom

Day 4    Visit Egypt's oldest capital, Memphis, with its first pyramid complex and famous nobles’ tombs at Saqqara

Day 5  Travel from Cairo to Bahariya oasis, climbing the Black Mountain

Day 6   Bahariya: visit springs and pharaonic monuments

Day 7  Travel from Bahariya to Siwa oasis through the Sahara's Great Sand Sea (4-wheel drive vehicles); stop en route at an abandoned oasis

Day 8  Siwa: visit springs, the temple of the Oracle of Amun, Mountain of the Dead, see the ruins of Shali fortress

Day 9  Travel from Siwa to Alexandria, visiting el Alamein cemeteries and monuments en route

Day 10  Alexandria: Catacombs, Roman amphitheater,  Greco-Roman Museum, Pompey's Pillar, Alexandria Library

Day 11  Alexandria: Citadel of Quaitbay,  Montazzah Palace, Royal jewelry museum, Abu Qir, travel to Cairo.

Day 12  Old and Coptic Cairo, including the Hanging Church

Day 13  Travel to Minia; en route visit Maidum and Lisht pyramids

Day 14  Beni Hassan, Tuna el Gebel, Amarna, travel to Assiut

Day 15  Visit temples of Abydos and Dendara en route to Luxor

Day 16  Luxor East Bank: Karnak and Luxor temples, Luxor museum                         

Day 17 Luxor West Bank: Valley of Kings, & Queens  & nobles' tombs     

Day 18  Luxor West Bank:  Deir el Bahri (Hatshepsut's temple) Deir el Medina (worker's village & tombs), temple of Medinet Habu, overnight train to Cairo  

Day 19  Day trip to the Delta: Tell Basta (Bubastis) and San el Hagar (Tanis).                             

Day 20  Islamic Cairo: Zeweila Gate through El Moezz Street to El Fotu, seeing mosques, sabils, kuttabs, mausoleums, markets, crafts, old houses, shops & daily life

Day 21  Travel back home
