Egyptian After Life
The egyptians believed in a life after death, some might of said that after you died you would go to 'the field of reeds', but to get to this blissful heaven you would have to go through a series of tests:
When The 'ka' (soul) reached the hall of Judgement, which can also be called 'the hall of lies', the deceased would have to pursuade the gods the he or she was innocent. The heart of the deceased would then be weighed upon 'the scales of justice', one side the Heart would go and the other side would be a feather, if the heart was heavier than the feather then It would be eaten by a creature caled 'Ammut' and the deaceaseds' ka would cease to exist. If it was lighter than the feather the ka would be able to go through into 'the field of reeds'
