GRAND CANYON - PAGE 3
Here is a shot from Bright Angel Point on the North Rim in September, 2001.  Several large forest fires burned nearby, creating a thick haze throughout the chasm.

The North Rim is 1000 feet higher than the South Rim, and it takes about 4 hours to drive between them.
Another shot from Bright Angel Point.  That's the Bright Angel Creek heading down to Phantom Ranch and the Colorado River.
There is a raggedy, 15 mph dirt road that heads west from Bright Angel Point to Point Sublime.  With a good, high clearance vehicle and a lot of confidence, the ride is very nice.  At about the halfway point the road runs close to the canyon edge.
