Black History Person of the Month September Jesse Owens September 1913- March 1980 Jesse Owens was one of the world’s greatest track and field athletes. At the 1936 Berlin Olympic games, Jessie Owens won 4 gold medals (in the 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter and the long jump) set two Olympic records and tied another. He later went on to set new records at the National collegiate Track and Field Meet. |
