President: Travis Mino, Senior Baritone

Where and when were you born? August 25, 1987 in Aurora, Colorado.
What do you think of high school? High school is ok. I enjoy the friendship and the camaraderie; the school part not as much.
Who or what inspired you to go into music? I have always loved to sing and I have had very good teachers.
What is your favorite type of music? Anything but rock-metal.
Who is your favorite artist or band? Relient K.
How long have you been singing? Since I could talk..
Do you only sing or do you play another instrument? I played the violin for four years and upright bass for two years.
Have you ever taken music lessons? No, I never have.
What other hobbies to you have? I love to play sports. Football, soccer, golf, basketball, etc. I usually like any sport.
Where do you want to be in ten years? In ten years I would love to be a professional singer with a family. Or maybe a cop with a family.
What choirs have you been in and which musical honors have you received in high school? I have been in Choraliers, Chamber, and Jazz Choir. Also, I was oustanding freshman, outstanding sophomore, Ways and Means Officer, and Keeper of the Keys.
If you could give any advice to the next generation of EHS vocalists, what would it be? Be good, do your work, and obey the hypnotoad!

Vice President: Tim Williams, Senior Tenor

Where and when were you born? August 28, 1987 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
What do you think of high school? High school is a place where wondrous things can happen. Then there's high school at Elizabeth.
Who or what inspired you to go into music? My brother. He used to play the french horn and when I got into the 6th grade, I signed up for trumpet (I thought that was what my brother played). Then, in high school, Mrs. Marsden convinced me to switch to choir.
What is your favorite type of music? Punk, Emo, or Ska
Who is your favorite artist or band? Relient K, Nzime Taken, and Flogging Molly.
How long have you been singing? All my life since I could speak.
Do you only sing or do you play another instrument? I also play guitar somewhat--I'm still learning.
Have you ever taken music lessons? I have taken trumpet lessons, but no voice.

What other hobbies to you have? I love to snowboard, which I do often. Another hobby of mine is to hang out with my friends and go crazy with them. I always have a good time doing anything.
Where do you want to be in ten years? In ten years I hope to either be in the Navy as a high-ranking officer, or in an awesome band, touring the country and rockin' cities wherever I go.
What choirs have you been in and which musical honors have you received in high school? I have been in Men's Ensemble during my freshman and sophomore years. Then I got into Jazz my sophomore year, which was a huge jump. Then my junior year I was in both Chamber and Jazz Choir. This, my last year, I am in Jazz Choir and kinda in Chamber.
If you could give any advice to the next generation of EHS vocalists, what would it be? Mrs. Cate is crazy. But crazy is good. She will push you to do better in everything that you do. Also, when she is in a bad mood, candy, granola bars, and chai tea always brighten her up. Oh, and sing your guts out. It's so much fun.
Anything else? "Burninate all the Peoples" --Trogdor. Oh, and Kevin Brinkmann, AKA David Baharninar is my hero always and forever. But I still love technology.... Always and forever....

 

Secretary: Laura Applegate, Junior Soprano

Where and when were you born? June 28, 1988 in Orange, California.
What do you think of high school? High school is fun.
Who or what inspired you to go into music? My mom.
What is your favorite type of music? I don't have a favorite.
Who is your favorite artist or band? It depends on my mood.
How long have you been singing? Since 8th grade.
Do you only sing or do you play another instrument? I only sing.
Have you ever taken music lessons? No.
What other hobbies to you have? Acting.
Where do you want to be in ten years? Graduated from school and teaching somewhere in California--maybe Boston--with a small family.
What choirs have you been in and which musical honors have you received in high school? I have been in Chamber, Jazz, and Women's Choir.
If you could give any advice to the next generation of EHS vocalists, what would it be? Learn your scales and don't be tone deaf!

 

Ways and Means: Mike Singarayar, Senior Bass

Where and when were you born? August 6, 1987 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
What do you think of high school? I think our high school is unique because everyone knows everyone else.
Who or what inspired you to go into music? My mother got me into playing the flute and the drums and Mrs. Cate introduced me to singing in choir.
What is your favorite type of music? I like Japanese music.
Who is your favorite artist or band? Rocket Summer.
How long have you been singing? I have been singing since August 2004.
Do you only sing or do you play another instrument? I playthe flute, drums, and steel drums.
Have you ever taken music lessons? I am currently taknig drum lessons.
What other hobbies to you have? I like to cook and I love to eat. I also love to play soccer and I like carpentry.sport.
Where do you want to be in ten years? In ten years, hopefully I'll be a head chef in a restaurant or be playing soccar for a pro team.
What choirs have you been in and which musical honors have you received in high school? I am in Chamber Choir.
If you could give any advice to the next generation of EHS vocalists, what would it be? Stick with the music program, participate in everything that you can, get the most out of it, and have fun.

Women's Choir Representative: Melissa Fling, Junior Alto

Where and when were you born? May 9, 1988 in Denver, Colorado.
What do you think of high school? Sometimes things run smoothly and sometimes high school sucks, socially.
Who or what inspired you to go into music? I have always loved to sing since I was little.
What is your favorite type of music? Almost everything.
How long have you been singing? Twelve years, but I have only been in choir for two.
Do you only sing or do you play another instrument? I don't play any instruments anymore, but I used to play piano and violin.
Have you ever taken music lessons? For the instruments, yes.
What other hobbies to you have? Writing, seeing movies, hanging out with friends, etc.
Where do you want to be in ten years? Either singing or something else--I have no idea what it would be. Maybe married with kids.
What choirs have you been in and which musical honors have you received in high school? Choraliers for two years and Women's Choir for half a year.
If you could give any advice to the next generation of EHS vocalists, what would it be? Don't hold back on opportunities because if you do, nothing will happen. As hard as it may be, you have to do it yourself and it will turn out well. Otherwise, you've got nothing to lose.

 

Choraliers Representative: Jenna Applegate, Freshman Soprano

Where and when were you born? June 30, 1990 in Englewood, Colorado.
What do you think of high school? I like high school. I enjoy the activities and the work, even though it is harder to fit everything in.
Who or what inspired you to go into music? I have always liked music, so I just started.
What is your favorite type of music? Country and church.
Who is your favorite artist or band? Martina McBride.
How long have you been singing? Since 5th grade.
Do you only sing or do you play another instrument? I play the clarinet, but I'm not in band.
Have you ever taken music lessons? No.
What other hobbies to you have? I liek to read, crochet, and dance
Where do you want to be in ten years? I want to be going to BYU Utah, studying to be a doctor.
What choirs have you been in and which musical honors have you received in high school? I am in Women's Choir and Choraliers.
