Snow Capped Mountains

The mountains in Himalayas are consider as a young mountains, this is judging from the sharp edges of the peak, the mountains are formed not long as compare to others. Although we only spent nine days in Annaupurna Sanctuary, but we had seen many snow capped mountains. In the pictures are Annapurna South on the left and Hiuchuli on the right.

 

Fish Tail peak, or local know as Machhapuchhre. Height is only 6993m, not a very high peak. But because of it fish tail shape and beautiful peak, it is the more famous mountain in Annpurna and can be easily recognized from others.

On the whole trek to Annapurna Base Camp, even at Poon hill, the Fish Tail peak can be seem everywhere. Under different weather, different angle, and different lighting at the time of day, the views at Fish Tail peak are changing. Top left : Taken from bamboo plantation near Hiko cave. Opposite the Fish Tail peak, on the west is Annapurna South (7219m). Is another prominent peak along the trek. On the left is taken from the balcony of the hotel in Ghandrung. On the right is Hiunchuli which is connected to Annapurna South, it height is about 6000m, taken from the same hotel in the morning. Picture at the bottom is the cliff link up Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.
