Durbar Square

         

  Durbar square is the center of the streets in Patan.Durbar square is in rectangular shape and it  divided in to west and east sides by a street. Most of the temples are on the west. palaces and gardens are on the east. The first temple on the west is Krishna Temple. Behind the temple is the Bhai Dega temple, this one the most important temple of the Nepalese. Because this is where they pray the Lingum of their god Shiva.

Further down, there is a Taleju Bell hanging on the wooden support. Follow by Shanka Temple which had three layers of roof.Beside Shanka Temple, there is a round pillar on the Square, there is a golden sculpture of King Siddhi Narsingh. Behind the pillar, there are three small temples. On the right of the square, there is another round pillar, on top of it is the sculpture of Garuda. In front of it, is the oldest Char Narayan temple and Krishna Mandir temple. Further north is the Bishwa Nath Mandir temple and lastly the Bhinmsen Mandir temple.
East started with Sundari Chowk, a palaces built in 1670 and renovated in 1960. Beside it, there are three old palaces, Mul Chowk; Bidya Mandir and Shrine Of Taleju. Further down, is the Taleju Bhawani Temple and Degu Talle temple. Lastly is the Mani Keshab Narayan Chowk. It has a famous golden door where on top of it are the sculptures of god Shiva and his wife.Manga Hiti fountain is at the north of the square. Fountains is in the shape of lotus and three water outlet are craft in crocodile shape. This is also the water supply point for the local.
