this is a neat way to end this section. look carefully in the photo. you'll see me holding a red carnation. now look up. see those 2 people kinda hanging out their balcony? we were walking back from the castle and tara told me she had just one photo left on her roll, and we noticed this elderly couple just relaxing on their balcony. they had these lovely carnations growing which draped across the wrought iron gates and hung below. it was such a lovely image and tara decided to take advantage of it. needless to say, the couple saw us and waved! we thanked them and were about to leave when the gentleman motioned for me to come closer to them. he then threw me one of his carnations! i thanked him and thought this was a wonderful way to end my own roll of film. :) what a sweet portuguese couple!
