the toro who didn't quite make it.

unfortunately, all good things come to an end- especially when vandals decide to end them. this toro suffered a head chopping. but, do not worry! as you can see, he later recovered his head...



this toro was not the only one which was harmed. apparently there were 2 others that suffered damage to the horns. what struck me was how clean the cut was on the bull's head. at first i wondered if perhaps he had come that way. when i read an article in the Salmantine paper describing the destruction to the artwork, i was shocked that someone had that much time to make such a nice cut. the Plaza Mayor is a constantly busy place. to this day, i still cannot understand how someone had the audacity (not to mention the time and skill) to effectively ruin someone else's hard work...
