Implants can  now predictably be used  to replace missing teeth. The main  benefit is that adjacent teeth do not have to be prepared for crowns as part of a fixed bridge. This is a more conservative and esthetic approach.

Implant prior to restoration placement and with restoration in place:

In this case an upper left first bicuspid is replaced with an implant supported crown. I used a conventional titanium abutment and a porcelain fused to gold crown. If conventional crown and bridge techniques has been used, the cuspid would have needed to be prepared for a crown.

For this patient we used a new type of ceramic post and an all ceramic crown. This gives a more natural esthetic result. The molar crown just behind the implant was done by a previous dentist.

Key Benefits

Provide you with more confidence
Less risk of need for root canals with adjacent teeth
Can help maintain bone in the area the tooth was lost
Can be more esthetic than a conventional bridge
