Gleðileg Jól and Merry Christmas to Everyone!  Hope the season finds you well.  As you can see my site at the moment is severing as a glorified Family News Letter.  And it's the best way I know to put pictures out so that everyone can see them.   And remember if you want to see enlarge a picture click on it.   Words underlined in a different color will also show you more pictures if you visit them well, shall we begin.

This year started out the same as it does for most people, we woke up and got out of bed.  Granted unlike most we did this in Iceland.  Iceland is a beautiful island and a wonderful place to raise a family.   We've had allot of fun traveling and exploring here.

thumjorsanta.jpg (5914 bytes) Well starting with Jordan lets check out what everyone has been up to.  Jordan had kind of an exciting summer.  Well it was exciting for those of us around her.   She got to sit on Kevin Costner's Lap for a few minutes.  While in Iceland he paid the base a visit.  He played in a base softball game.  And after the game he signed autographs.  One of the security officers who was helping to keep people   under control was so impressed by
the way all four of the kids were waiting patiently in line that he decided one way or another we were going to get  to meet   Mr. Costner.  And true to his word he set  Jordan up where the crowd was headed and as they got close he was yelling hey watch out there's a little kid back here.   So of course Kevin, was moving people out of the way to get to that kid (Jordan) and he stopped picked her up and put her on his lap and talked with her while he signed all our kids baseballs.  If you ask her who's lap she was on she'll say Robin Hood's.

Jordan also got to start school this year.  Pre-school (Sure Start) that is.   She goes to school all day, just like the rest of our kids.  She is a joy to have in our family.

thumjdsanta.jpg (6086 bytes) Joshua-David finally became a Tiger Scout this year he is very excited. He loves being a Tiger.  He also did really well playing T-Ball over the summer, he was one of the kids on his team who usually didn't use the Tee. He really likes being in 1st grade his favorite thing in school is working on his orange Journal. He also loves to learn all he can about how the human body works.

thumjersanta.jpg (6190 bytes) Jeremy had a big year this year! He turned eight which of course means he was Baptized. And he even got to be baptized on his birthday.  He was dunked three times before it was done right, but that just makes it memorable.  We are very proud of him. Jeremy   is doing great in Scouts he was the first one in his den to earn his Bear.  He has also earned a recruiter patch many belt loops, pins and his Sports and Academic Letters for Scouts.  He was active in Baseball this year.  He
and Josie were on the same team they worked well together. Jeremy is also liking his 3rd grade class.   And he is very good at drawing he makes beautiful birds.

thumjosanta.jpg (5734 bytes) Josie's year has become very busy.  She is still involved in Girl Scouts and is currently a patrol leader in her Troop.  She has also started Band this year.   She is learning to play the flute and is picking it up quickly.  She is also participating in a  group called the Jason Project  they study rock from the moon as well as some other spacey type things.  She was just barely selected to be a part of that group so we are not sure about what it is about.  However the group is going to London in Feb.   Sounds like fun.  Josie is in  4th grade this year and loving it. The school has put Josie into the TAG (Talented and Gifted) Program.

thumjonscouts.jpg (3246 bytes) John this year is serving as a Cub Scout Co-Leader for the Bear den.  Which of course means he has to work with his beautiful, loving, talented, and gifted wife.

This year I  have been overwhelmed.  During the summer I was an assistant coach for Josie and Jeremy's Baseball Team. Right now I am the Girl Scout Junior Troop Leader as well as a Waterfall patrol leader.  I am also serving as a Cub Scout Co-Leader for the Bears Den. I Most of my time is spent volunteering everyday to help different organizations, most days I volunteer at the school except for Mondays when I volunteer at the thrift store and Tuesdays I do ceramics (time for just me).  I'm also a member of the sure start parents committee as well as a member of the girl scout council.   This year I  also have a job, if you can call it that.  I'm a bus monitor.  I get paid to ride the buses with the kids in order to prevent  problems and help students on and off the bus, which in Iceland sometimes requires Marine help with gale winds.  The job pays lousy but since I was already on the bus going to and from the school, why not do this. On top of all this I  am 1st counselor in the Primary Presidency.   So I guess the most important thing I have learned in the last couple of months is to say "NO".
