Babylon 5
This is one of the better science fiction shows which nobody ever watches.  'Course, right now it's been banished to early mornings on TNT-who watches cable at six AM on weekdays? I've heard that the sci-fi channel picked it up and is gonna show it at decent times starting this fall-if that's true I can't wait.  But while I was still able to watch this show I loved it.  It's like Star Trek : Deep Space 9, except it's darker and they found their focus earlier.  One of the big selling points for this show is supposed to be that the creator/producer started out with an entire five year's worth of plot to film, as opposed to the average show which goes show by show.  this same guy also wrote most of the episodes, which means he's gotta have something wrong with him.  Most of the shows are pretty good, and some are even better. They have good episode titles, too-"And the Rock Cried Out, Now Hiding Place", "And All My Dreams, Torn Asunder", "There All the Honor Lies", "Passing Through Gethsemane"...that was the episode from which I learned how to pronounce Gethsemane, but that's another story.  There are a lot of mythological overtones and spiritual stuff, but it's nicely balanced with the computer-generated battle scenes, so there's a little bit of something for everyone.  For those who care, there are many parallels between the Centauri Republic and Rome, especially Emporer Cartagia (Caligula in Roman history) and Vir (Claudius, as in the TV miniseries I, Claudius).  Anyway, it's a pretty cool show, even if so few people have ever heard of it.

All You Can Eat Flarn!

A Dark, Distorted Mirror

This is a long story detailing an alternate universe version of the entire show.  Very damn impressive.

A lot of this seems to be NC-17, so be careful.
