224. Cyrus HAYNIE was born about 1794 in Northumberland County, Virginia. Cyrus is identified in the will of his brother, Stephen Haynie, as heir to Stephen's Wiccocomoco River plantation and his carpentry tools. Cyrus evidently carried on the family carpentry occupation, after the death of Stephen, which was started by their father, George Haynie.
Cyrus received a pension for his service in the War of 1812; SC-20080. He served in Capt. James Sutten's Company, Virginia Militia, as a private (Index to War of 1812, Vol. II, G-M).
Cyrus was married five times, his first wife's name is unknown. The 1850 Federal Census for Northumberland County, Virginia lists: Cyrus Haynie age 56, farmer, property value $19000; wife Elizabeth age 49; son James L. age 22; daughter Eliza age 17; and son Stephen age 9. The 1860 Federal Census for Northumberland County, Virginia list: Cyrus Haynie age 66, Farmer; and his fifth wife E. F. age 59; both were born in Northumberland County.

426 i. James L. HAYNIE was born about 1828 and he died in Jun 1862. James was listed in the 1860 Federal Census for Northumberland County, Virginia wherein he gave his age as 32 born in Northumberland County, occupation farmer, residence 662. James is believed to have served with the Confederate in the Civil War, Company F, 47th Virginia Regiment. He died of wounds in June 1862.
