928. Frankie Allen SALTS was born
on 7 Oct 1903 in Bois D'Arc, Greene County, Missouri. Frankie's father called her
"Sally".
She was married to Leonard Ray BEAN (son of James Harvey BEAN and
Mollie ????) on 4 Jan 1926 in Ozark, Christian County, Missouri.
Leonard Ray BEAN was born on 4 Dec 1903 in Bois D'Arc, Greene
County, Missouri. He died on 10 Aug 1974 in Bois D'Arc, Greene County, Missouri and was
buried on 10 Aug 1974 in Clear Creek Cemetery, Greene County, Missouri (section A, row 1).
The Bean family has lived in the family home originally built by William Franklin Salts
since the death of Martha Thomas Salts. Leonard and Frankie Bean purchased the home from
the surviving sisters soon after the death of their mother. After her husband died, Franky
continued to live in the home built by her father until 1999 when health and the loss of
one leg forced her to move near her daughter and son-in-law.
Frankie's husband, Leonard, owned and operated a grocery and general store in Bois D'Arc,
Missouri. He later owned and operated a grocery store located on old highway 66 (now 266)
which he sold. Leonard and Frankie worked for many years at the Barnes Stores (groceries,
furniture, etc.) located on old Highway 66, not far from their farm home.
Leonard was 71 years, 8 months and 6 days old when he died. A memorial service was held at
the Bois D'Arc Methodist Church on Tuesday, 13 August 1974 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. J. L.
Branstetter and Rev. Jesse Norris officiating. Escorts were: Clell Barnes, Jim Squibb,
Cline Nicholson, Leland Mills, Orren Mills and J. L. Glass. Quartet was: Cecil Bush, Mrs.
Cecil Bush, Mrs. Erma Owens and Jim Squibb. Leonard was interred at Clear Creek Cemetery.
