Travelers Resthome

made by Seppä Erkki, aka BlackSmith, heureka 2003/12/03, updated 2004/07/12

This is a 4” high, 2” wide and only ½” thin small door frame that has a tiny door witch leads to extradimensional dwelling that is similar to the spell Mordekein's Magnificen't Mansion.
When placed on the ground and if enough space (otherwise it shrinks back), it grows in one full round to an as high as 8 feet, 4 feet wide and ½ feet thick door that has a frame that is completely made from mithril. The door itself can be made of variable materials.
This main door is water and air tight and can be only, and only, opened by the person who placed it on the ground but anyone can step trough it and also close it or open it from inside. If the door is closed without anyone inside the Rest Home, it shrinks back to its miniature form.

Inside the door there are 20 servants who act as unseen servants, waiting at the great hall ready to serve at the best of their abilities. Except the servants are vaguely transparent making them visible to everyone and can’t leave the complex, they try serve their best to anyone inside of the complex.

Also there are 24 other rooms that are linked to the great hall with variable purposes noted below All of them can be lighted or dimmed simply by asking it while in the room. All of the rooms are also equipped with a fireplace usually inlaid in to the wall opposite to the door. If a fire is kept in these fireplaces, the smoke is magically transferred out so it looks like it rises between the frame and main door; any smoke hitting the sealing of the complex is also moved out in the same manner. Every door in the complex is made (magically copied) from the same material as the main door and all of them block sound completely except regular knocking that can be heard trough them without problem. Also any sound generated in 5ft from the door is also audible 5ft at the other side of the door. For after one full day (24h) after the complex is grown it does not generate any fresh air and its fires go out resulting to it’s temperature rapidly moving towards the outer temperature. Arrogant or ignorant inhabitants might suffocate or freeze to death after long enough time if the main door isnīt opened to gain fresh air or if no heat is generated by other means or if the complex is not refreshed as noted below.

Casting Mordekein's Magnificent Mansion inside of the Rest Home refreshes it, thus all it’s worn out functions are available again. Also after it has been 8 hours in its shrunken form it refreshes. Taking extradimensional items (e.g. Bag of Holding) inside the complex is safe but opening them or opening new extradimensional pockets results for its entire contest to be spilled out from the main door simultaneous destroying the container, or in case of spell negating the whole spell, but in any case this also refreshes the Rest Home. However, dimensional travel is not affected in any way.

Any items left behind in Resthome stay there but only 1/50 part of their weight is added to its shrunk form. Note that in shrunken form it can not be opened by any means, breaking the door in its miniature form only result for its entire contest to be scattered around astral plane and the door frame turning into simple mithril door frame with its magic gone. Also note that the frame will not shrink without a door.
