Here are my friend Jack and I looking at a mounted mammoth at the Wildlife Museum. We took a class in archaeology of the Southwest. Part of the class was the study of the mammoth hunters. We agree that poking these creatures with pointed sticks isn't the way we want to do our grocery shopping even equipped with Clovis points and atlatl, the leading-edge weapon technology of the time. We stopped at the lunch counter on the way out and had buffalo burgers.
We are both hunters and wildlife enthusiasts and enjoyed our visit here very much. We made a second trip and brought his father who was handicapped but was able to tour in his powered wheelchair. Access was excellent for him and he enjoyed it greatly. This is another one of the great things to see in Tucson. There is an opportunity to see wildlife from all over the world here.
The International Wildlife Museum is sponsored by Safari Club International Foundation. There are about 400 displays here. I'm going to show a few of them.
