Healers and Healing

Healers are entities or spirit-beings with the ability to connect other entities with their own ability to make themselves whole and well ... their own ability to harmonize with the universe. The term entities means healers are not necessarily human. My experience is that all things have a spirit; we are spirit-beings along with all other beings, living and non-living. Plants can be healers. Animals can be healers. People can be healers. Minerals and crystals and gems and rocks can be healers. Places can be healers. A gentle word or a loving touch at the right time can be a healer. Anything possessing the ability to connecti is a potential healer.

Healing is not about power. The only power the healer has is to achieve this contact and direct a portion of the energy required to make the recipient whole and well. This ability to heal can be attained or augmented by study, training or spiritual awakening or be an inherent natural ability.

Healing is never passive. To be healed, the person requesting healing must desire and be willing to be well on all levels. Beyond the physical level, this includes the emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. To be healed, one must be willing to change or have change occur on all levels. Often these changes go against our conditioning, our learning, our beliefs, our judgments, our fears. This is because our identity, given to us by society, is often working against our healing. The most commonly used source of healing is divine energy, chi, prana or a host of other terms meaning the same thing. Ki is chi is divine love. Wnergy is Energy. Creator is creator is creator.

All things are energy vibrating at different frequencies. This is not metaphysical theory but a well accepted principle of physics. We and our material world are energies vibrating at a low frequencies, frequencies we can sense with our physical bodies. As we are energy, dis-ease is a warp, defect or distortion in the energy field of our body. This defect is most probably present at all energy levels but we generally detect it and define it on a physical level by the related physical symptoms. That's because we live in a physical world and our culture is physically oriented.

And we are surrounded by energy. This energy can, to some extent, be controlled by intention or will. It can be directed and manipulated by the healer's intention to strengthen or to change conditions around us. All of us are able, to some extent, to tap into this energy surrounding us. The healer then has the ability to assist in tapping into this energy reservoir. If not for the ability in all living things to tap into this energy, we would not be alive. Although the healer can manipulate and direct this energy, the entity desiring healing must be willing to accept and participate in this energy change in themselves to be healed.

Healing means many things. The physical body is the first thing that comes to the mind of most in relation to healing and generally healing is defined in terms of the physical body. But healing encompasses more than this. Healing, unlike curing, implies whole or complete wellness at all levels. This is necessary because, as energy beings, one level of our energy effects all levels of our energy; what happens on one level effects our other levels. There is continuous feed-back between all levels of our energy system. Disease is an imbalance of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energy fields. True healing, thus true wellness, is achieved when balance is returned between all levels within and outside. True healing comes only with true desire and seeking to balance self and environment, of becoming one with the Universe. Without true healing, a physical cure may not remove these energy distortions, causing a renewal of physical symptoms or the occurrance of more drastic physical symptoms. As pointed out to me in a shamanic workshop, death can be a healing.

We are meant to be well. Dis-ease begins with distortions in our aura or personal energy body that eventually permeate our physical body. These distortions or blocks arise from fear -- stress -- mental and emotional disturbances in our lives. If we accept the idea life is a struggle, life is a punishment, we are meant to grow old and suffer crippling diseases and emotional upsets, we will. We put these ideas and, thus, these energies in our energy fields. Our first defense against illness and dis-ease is be more loving to ourselves, kinder toward ourselves and more accepting of ourselves. The major cause of dis-ease is lack of an awareness and a love of self.

There is a difference between healing and fixing, a difference the healer must recognize. With healing, the healer works without an agenda, having no attachment to the outcome. The outcome is in the control of the entity receiving the healing. With fixing there is an attachment to the outcome, the healer has a definite plan to fix something according to his own feelings of what the situation should be. The healer must remain detached from the healing situation --- this is the healer's primary defense and duty. Healing should be carried out only with acceptance of divine wisdom and guidance.

Ultimately the responsibility for healing lies with the person being healed and with no one else.
