After Enishi appeared on the scene in Rurouni Kenshin, the number of white-haired manga and anime characters increased. Most popular series now have a silver-haired bishonen somewhere in the cast.It is to be noted that many of the characters that stemmed out which have Enishi's traits, tend to be characters on the good side, or the neutral position. If Enishi weren't such a cool character, why would so many artists want to clone him in some form?
Here, we present the more obvious Enishi clones.They are from manga and anime that came out from 1999 to 2001.
Midou Ban (GetBackers)
Ban is one half of the GetBackers (Amano Ginji being the other half), a duo that gets back anything taken or stolen, for a fee. His hands have the power to grip at 200kg, and his piercing eyes can create hallucinations in a person he stares at.
Similarity with Enishi: Goodness, just take a look at him, will you? Same messy hair, same small unrimmed purple glasses. His personality is also much like Enishi's. He's suave, quick-thinking, and calculating, but he annoys people with his smart and sharp remarks. He has a short temper. While he has had relationships with women, in general he keeps away from them. He likes doing things alone if he can help it. He doesn't like people delving into his past.
Differences: While he doesn't have parents, he was raised by a nice old lady. His history is original with him. And as was mentioned, he has powers of his own. He is very money-minded, unlike the original who doesn't care for it.
Haru Glory (Groove Adventure Rave/Rave Master)
Haru is a young man who needs to find out what exactly Rave can do, if he wants to save the planet as the new Rave Master. Rave is a magic material that helps activate a special sword and to turn into several kinds of sword, specific for certain attacks. All parts of Rave are needed to form the ultimate sword, needed to save the world from destruction.
Similarity with Enishi: The white hair. The sword slung at the back. Haru's mother is dead, and he was virtually raised by his sister Cattleya, who looks WAY too much like Tomoe. Haru always does things, because he believes his sister would do such-and-such or say such-and-such about something.
Differences: Haru's father left him when he was a lot smaller. His sister Cattleya is still alive; he just left her to go on his adventures. Haru as a character is very bright and optimistic, and incredibly cheerful.
Lucia Rareglove (the Blonde Devil, who is the final boss), while he does not look it, is more Enishi than Haru is. He is very ruthless, and heads by force the combination of all the groups he defeated. His parents were killed because of Haru's father's mistake. He was locked up because people were scared of his magical abilities. When he was released, he promised to get revenge on Haru Glory, using the powers and skills he mastered while in prison. One can say that Haru and Lucia are two sides of Enishi that got split.
Kageyama Reiji (GateKeepers)
A boy with a gift who went to the dark side. A series of unfortunate incidents in this youth got him so mad at the world, it turned his good white interdimensional gate into an evil black one. He causes trouble for the GateKeepers, as the boss that can't easily be killed, since he is a human like them. When he grows up (in GK 21), he becomes a mysterious businessman with immense holdings.
Similarity to Enishi -- The silver hair. The odd pair of glasses. He is rather aloof, except during the times he wants to show his nicer side as a cover. He has charisma and a way of speaking that makes people follow him and his ideals. He is also out to seek revenge against the world that ruined it all for him. He keeps to himself. He easily gets angry, unleashing his power. He works for an (alien!) organization as a recognized leader, but is detached from its inner workings. Underlings are afraid of him and obey him quickly.
Differences: He is definitely not afraid of women; in fact, girls crowd around him! His history is original with him. He has no family now. And he has this thing for squashing the insects of society.
