YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO OUR HAUNTED TENT... IF YOU DARE

[sorry - haunted tent cancelled for 2007 - see you next year!]

Pictures from The Haunted Tent 2004 have been posted!!

This is for Everyone!!!!

Hey Everybody - It's almost that time of year again, and you all know how much we love Halloween, so make sure that you mark your calendars and tell all your friends...

THE HAUNTED TENT RISES AGAIN!!!!!

On October 8th, and 9th, 2004, the Haunted Tent will again be held in our backyard. Children from the neighborhood (and adults going through their second childhood) will be participating in putting together what threatens to be one of the scariest scenes yet. Yes, even scarier than Misty without makeup in the morning!!!

ALL friends, relatives, and any who enjoy a good scare, are welcome to come to this event (including THEIR friends and relatives!!!) - it will start shortly after dusk on the 8th and 9th (look to www.weather.com for official "sunset" times). We hope you will all enjoy it and everyone is welcome to go through the haunted tent more than once (with respect to those who have not had a chance yet). We are hoping to have hot cider and cookies for everyone as well. If you would like to "donate" any refreshments, it would be welcomed but not expected. There is no fee for the Haunted Tent. (FREE!!!)

One last note, any volunteers are VERY welcome and any ideas are also welcomed. If you would like to be a part of the haunted tent and not just a spectator, please contact me directly at sommemi@hotmail.com. (By the way, if you are interested in Charity work or need that something special for your resume, this is a great opportunity to work with kids and next year might turn into a bona-fied"charity" event. ) I am VERY open to donations of old costumes or black material/felt. Thanks!

In the meantime, practice your surprised looks!!! :)

Sincerely, the Evel Knievel Adventure Club of Kent, Ohio

P.S. Any RSVP's are welcomed, so that we can estimate how many people will be coming each night... Just remember, the more people that these kids scare, the happier they are!!! You can RSVP on our club guestbook, or by emailing me at sommemi@hotmail.com .

[SORRY - NO TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR 2007]

Print ticket for admission - this helps us keep track of how many attended each year! Thank you!

Creativity is encouraged, and you are welcome to show off your Halloween creativity in any way you like! Costumes and Halloween makeup are a lot of fun, and help inspire us to do more creative things the next year! If you show up in costume, please let us take your picture so we can post it here with pictures of our other haunted guests!

HAUNTED PLACES:

Asheville, NC:
Went there for a conference one year. It has wonderful old stuff, and a beautiful hotel. There's a whole book on the ghosts that live in this town. As a matter of fact, I have an autographed copy that I bought directly from the author. If you would like to borrow the book from me... well. I'm kind of protective of it. But I'll let you check it out if you just ask me nicely. Interestingly enough, we had some weird 'spots' on the film when we got it developed after we got back to Ohio. The Hotel was rumored to be haunted by a ghost one the second floor of the main part of the hotel, and a friend had an extremely strange experience with a pink eye shadow compact and her room.

Moundsville Penetentiary, WV:
http://www.ohiotrespassers.com/mound.html There are quite a few haunted places explored by the people who maintain this website. I think it's quite interesting. Check out some of the other locations close by that they have 'trespassed'. http://www.ohiotrespassers.com
