A Brief Biography...
Benjamin
Adam Younkins was born on February 2nd, 1979 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He spent the first three years of his life growing up around neighboring
Burkburnett, and then moved with his family to Kittanning, Pennsylvania,
which is about 45 minutes northeast of Pittsburgh.
At age six, he was enrolled in Lenape Elementary School.
Shortly after the beginning of his kindergarten year, his scores on
diagnostic tests had him moved to the academically gifted classes. By
maintaining high grades, he remained in these classes until entering
the seventh grade. Then he became a student at Ford City Junior/Senior
High School. He participated in the 'Enrichment' program for gifted
students until the tenth grade, when it was discontinued.
During
his tenure at FCHS, Ben also sang in the chorus, played trombone in
the band, and played both soccer and football for the school. During
his junior year, he sang "Born to Hand Jive" in the school's presentation
of the musical Grease. The next year, he had one of the lead roles and
multiple songs to carry in The Music Man.
Shortly after graduation, Ben received a full tuition scholarship
to attend college at Wheeling Jesuit University in Wheeling, West Virginia.
In the second semester of his freshman year, Ben formally enrolled in
the Computer Science major and over the next few years, he added a minor
in Business Management.
During
his years at Wheeling Jesuit, Ben also found time to play a lead role
in WJU's presentation of a stage rendition of Akira Kurosawa's much-acclaimed
classic, "Rashomon." His senior year, he played the part of Ferdinand
in Shakespeare's "The Tempest." While maintaining a cumulative 3.475
GPA, Ben also found time to contribute some stories and poetry to the
student arts publication and also make large contributions as a staff
member. Ben had the good fate to spend most of the summer of his sophomore
year in Europe, visiting Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. Since
his graduation, Ben has had the good luck to work with some spectacular
different companies, such as FedEx
and Medrad.
