Portfolio - Webpages

On this page I give you the chance to see some of the other webpages that I have composed. Along with this resume website that you are currently on, these pages illustrate some of my abilities in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. While this current website was composed primarily utilizing Macromedia Dreamweaver, most of my previous work was done in raw text editors.

Pappy's Candles

Pappy's Candles is a business local to where I grew up. After about eight years of being in business, Bob (or 'Pappy') decided that he wanted to have a more established online presence. As most of his customers were generated from his tour of local fairs and festivals, he wanted to give these people an easy way to keep in touch and hopefully order more candles.

I designed the site to be low bandwidth, believing that the majority of the user core would be on dial-up internet connections. Pappy's business colors were red and white, which were very easy to work with. I especially enjoyed how my animated candle turned out. Also, feel free to check out the 'Scent Selector.'

An Online Wedding Photo Album

This website is a little something I threw together in honor of my sister's wedding. Most of the website was designed with the intention of maintaining fast download speeds while still being attractive. I'm especially proud of how the tiling background came out (I drew it freehand in MS Paint!) Also try to keep in mind that every single picture had to be scanned, edited in Photoshop, resized and saved in a download friendly format. That takes a while!

Mother Jones House Website - Classic Version

Begun as part of a class project, this site was designed for an altrustic organiztion in its seminal year at my college. The site was designed along simple symmetrical lines and comfortable earth tones in hopes of creating a comforting atmosphere of benevolence. The HTML for this page and its successor was edited using only Microsoft's Notepad text editor.

Mother Jones House Website - Funky Version

This is the second iteration of the Mother Jones House website. To challenge my talent, my teacher asked me to redesign the site with a more activistic feel and a more eye-grabbing format. Because part of the assignment was to utilize an external cascading style sheet (CSS), I tried to go an extra step by creating pages that would revert to the 'Classic' style by simply swapping style sheets. The main page for each site was done as a distinct document with its own embedded style sheet.
