This tutorial will go a little bit faster than the female furry tutorial, only because I didn't scan as many steps as before because I think you've already got the general idea. To illustrate how I draw male humanoid things, I'm going to draw my character Adriel from the Medieval Sim I'm in. Adriel's a Gethsemae, which is a species I made up. They're pretty much just like elves only shorter and less powerful. Here's the usual circle I use to start off... |

Next I'll draw in his facial structure and chest area. Being male (however scrawny he is) Adriel has wider shoulders than he would if he were a girl. The circle I use for his rib cage is smaller than Jez's, because he's pretty small-boned, and his waist doesn't go in nearly as far. He's got more of a straight torso than one that curves inward. I also draw in the shapes for his arms, in his famous hugging-himself position. Adriel kind of has issues... When you think you know what's happened to you in your life, and suddenly a whole lot of people who say they know you but you don't remember show up and you start having really weird dreams, it eventually gets to you ^_^ |

Now I'll draw in his legs. Adriel has fairly easy legs to draw in this picture because he's just standing straight, and not doing anything complicated. With Jezebel, she usually had a pretty loose demeanor, if you know what I mean... the way she stands is very relaxed. But Adriel is a lot more rigid. Adriel also wears boots, so I don't have to bother trying to draw toes! Whee! |

I darken up the lines around his body and make the general shapes flow instead of just being... well, shapes ^_^ Then I draw his hands in as well as I can. Both of his hands are kind of in odd positions, so that takes me a while to get right. Then I erase all the little lines inside that helped me place his body parts. |

Now for the face! Yay. I had terrible issues trying to draw his expression today... I guess I'm just not having an easy drawing day ^_^ He's supposed to be looking downwards, and all subdued and stuff... I finally got it the way I wanted it, and then remembered that I had to do his ears, which took me another eternity. See, his head is tilted downward, and his ears had to be at the right perspective, and geez it was so irritating. But I finally drew it satisfactorily. |

And for the last step, I draw in Adriel's hair and clothing. He's another one of those character who always wears the same stuff. He's kinda got this uniform thing going on... Anyway, I actually drew his hair the way I wanted it to be so it made up for the fact that his ears look kinda bad. Adriel's uniform is pretty easy to draw because it doesn't have any really loose parts. All it's got are a couple of wrinkles at the inside of the elbows and at the shoulders and soforth. Which means I didn't have to erase much of the work I did before because it was hidden by clothing... always a nice thing ;) |
