The Panda and
Her Spots
It was the month of August, and it was planting time in China. All the farmers of China were using rich soil and fertilizer to keep their crop growing strong. The farmers' favorite plant to grow was bamboo. It was also the pandas' favorite food. But the farmer did not need to worry, for all the pandas were locked up in the China Zoo, except for one. Its name is Mai Kok. Mai had white fur and escaped from the China Zoo. She got out when two zoo keepers accidentally forgot to lock her cage.
On one particular hot day, when the farmers were planting seeds, weeding the field, and watering the seeds, a giant thunderstorm cloud flooded the sky. Rain started pouring down. The farmers dropped everything and ran in to thier farms for shelter. Lightning struck and thunder boomed. Everyone and everything was safe in shelter. Except for Mai.
Mai was searching for food when she felt a drip of water on her white back. As the rain started pouring even more water onto her back, she saw a blackish brownish run out in front of her. Mai looked closely cried for joy for she had always loved mud. She quickly jumped in to the puddle of mud which was originally created by the farmers' rich soils and fertilizer. Now, Mai's white fur was very absorbent, so soon she became a bear with black spots.
When the rain was
over the farmers came out again. One of the farmers spotted Mai sitting near a
tree licking her fur that has BLACK fur. The farmer couldn't believe it. A panda
with black spots. The farmer quickly told the zoo keeper at the China Zoo that
he had found Mai. Mai was took back to the China Zoo and became the first black
and white bear.
