About Me
Welcome to my Web Page. I am the author of The Division Street Princess, a coming-of-age story set in the 1940's of a girl, a store, and an immigrant Chicago neighborhood. My memoir was published May, 2006 by Syren Book Company.

Also, I am president of
ELAINE SOLOWAY PUBLIC  RELATIONS and a  freelance writer. My firm specializes in economic development, education, healthcare, social services, elderly issues, and housing

We provide a full range of public relations services including: public relations strategy and writing, media relations, community outreach, special events, spokesperson training, internal communications, newsletters, annual reports, and grant proposals.

Our
clients have included: the Adoption Center of Illinois, Aitz Hayim in the City, Lutheran Social Services of Illinois, National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression, Women's Business Development Center, and Youth Service Project, Inc.

We've

In a
career before I launched my  company, I was an Account Supervisor for Jasculca/Terman Associates, Director of Information for the Chicago Public Schools during the term of Superintendent Ruth Love, and Assistant Press Secretary to  Chicago Mayor Jane Byrne.

Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Bachelors in Education from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
