-Moonit enters "the dream state" where she meets Kaelin and Pidth.
Pidth explains that hundreds of years ago there, demons threatened the
life of Furcadia. The "god" Ayem destroyed them with the elements.
Ayem later gave all the elements but one to Pidth. The other element
was given to his brother, Dark Harvest. Years later, an uprising
from furres who wished to destory the royals tried to ally themselves with
demons. The royal soldiers fought the demons off with the help of
four whom Pidth gave the elements of water, sky, time, and land to.
When the surviving officers returned to the kingdom, they found that the
invading furres had succeeded without the demons and that the royals were
in exile. Earth and Time (Damoxte) decided to go to Pidth and take
the remaining elements themselves so that they can take over the kingdom
by themselves. Both died on the way. Earth meged with a demon
and continued his campaign for dominance. This demonized officer
seeks out the furres who own the elements to control. Pidth continues
to say that only the sole descendent from all four officers could destroy
the demons for good, hense why Gorian and Mar are involved in the power
struggle. Kaelin says that only the combination of the elements can
destroy land and his demons for good. Pidth reveals that someone
can capture the spirit of dead furres for Land before Dark Harvest can
get to them, just like Pidth's spirit was lost.
-Furre of earth interrupts the above meeting and takes Pidth away.
He then takes control of the dreams of Moonlit, Kaelin, Chloria, Cyiet,
Gelae, the furres of sand, fire, and light.
-Chloria breaks off with Mar
-Gorian and Mar join up with Gelae, Cyiet, and Moonlit to the mountains
*holy crap that's a lot of info! But its all necessary to understand
the story
*furre of fire and light and both females
*furre of land has already met furre of sand, Cunner (he appeared in
chapter 1 - kinda)
*all but one of the elemental furres appear (furre of sky gets a mention
though)
*Kaelin reveals that her immortality is unrelated to her control over
water
*Dark Harvest says that Mar is no longer of any concern to him and
Damoxte
*Kaelin hints that she doesn't like Dark Harvest
*Cunner is a vamp
Chapter 17 (Disliking Sand)
-After Moraine's group leaves (with Gorian and Mar), in Espio's
Oylemanti laments about his predicament. He misses his artistry,
but his obsession for Chloria made him a vamp hunter. Exavia enters
and Espio and Oylemanti bicker again.
-Almasta (Earth's sidekick) is still stuck in the ground until Cunner
meets up with her and gets her out ... by turning the ground into loose
sand.
*During the bickering between Espio and Oylemanti, we learn that canines
and lupines are minorities in Furcadia. This is true years ago in
"real" Furcadia. Its hinted that each species has a different kingdom.
*Cunner is revealed as a "rogue" vamp
*Exavia loves ginger ale! Good for her!
*Espio decides not to serve sandy ale anymore, much to Oylemanti's
disappointment. She adds that she may very well be Oylemanti's only
true friend.
*Legend has it that its dry in Slen because Ayem took all the moisture
out of the clouds
*Exavia whispers "demon" to herself for the first time
-In an attempt to get over Chloria, Mar tries and succeeds to make it
rain
-Kaelin asks Gorian the Warrior to make it rain in Meovanni
-Oylemanti observes the rain around Slen, but Chloria just dismisses
it
-Exavia also observes the rain and is forced into an assignment.
*Exavia talks to "demon" again
*Apparently Gorian the Warrior can control the weather too. Element
of sky perhaps? That means furre of land is...
*this is my least favourite chapter =(
Chapter 19 (Kitten's Music)
-Just before making camp, Moraine insists that Cyiet practices his löe on his own. Cyiet walks out of hearing range and practices a melody. Exavia pops up and asks him to play her something. Cyiet then finds himself as a kid in Linde city and realizes that he missed it. He awakes hours later, with no Exavia in sight, and walks back to Moraine's camp, but he finds it abandoned. He discovers a dead furre and plenty of arrowheads.
*second consecutive chapter without an appearance by ginger ale
*Cyiet was a troublemaker when he was a kid with his best friend Clancey.
*While Slen had a purple and orange colour to it, Linde has a chocolate
brown colour to the streets with plenty of green ivy
*Clancey is named after one of the author's cats (RIP)
-Damoxte follows Moraine's group while Dark Harvest follows Chloria
-Moraine makes Gorian and Mar do the hard work and later gives them
jackets. While embracing Gelae, he gets shot by an arrow. All
four scramble behind a boulder as a rushing group of vamps make their way
to them. Mar finds his crossbow in the grass and tries to grab it,
but is pushed down by a furre. Gorian grabs the crossbow and shoots
the furre. The two scramble back to the boulder, but Gorian goes
back out because he thinks that the furre is still alive. Gorian
gets shot and Mar and Moraine take Gorian's shield to reach him.
The shield collapses on all three and when they take it off, they find
themselves surrounded by vamps.
*third consecutive chapter without ginger ale
*Moraine's second journal entry
*Gorian and Mar have never worn winter clothing before
-With Gelae, Moraine, Gorian, and Mar captured, Damoxte follows them to the vamp colony, but finds herself unable to enter because of an invisible barrier
*fourth consecutive chapter without ginger ale
*Damoxte recalls being at this colony a long time ago.
*The colony is made up of "royals, dukes, and refugees"
Chapter 22 (The Osprey)
-Roone, one of the vamp leaders, learns of the capture of four furres. He recognizes Gorian and Mar as descendents of officers of Xte and wonders what he should do about them without them getting hurt.
*fifth consecutive ... you get the idea
*Roone is over a century old
*Forestwind appears; he apparently designs vamp raids with the assistance
of the vamps themselves. This way, Chloria gets the credit and the
money from her employers and the vamps can keep their official colony from
being attacked for real
*Roone, Saonj, Nemet, Tka, and Armk are named after five creators of
the old school furres
*the vamp colony is named Allets, after the osprey who aided Ayem to
get the elements of music and ice
*Mount Kuisp is said to be a giant frog
*Slen is named after the author's late grandfather and Allets is named
after his late grandmother
*Gelae was seriously injured by the recent attack; Moraine is already
pinning the blame on Mar
*Roone mentions a childhood friend named Lunar Star
*apparently the hospital beds in Allets are merely hammocks hanging
from the ceiling. Excellent medicare!
-Gelae awakes in the vamp hospital and finds Exavia hanging on his hammock below him. Exavia takes him back to his childhood in a dream. When he awakes, she's gone.
*Gelae still had nightmares, most likely from furre of land
*Gelae was the ice belly-sliding champion when he was a kid.
He beat Karamel (named after the author's sister's cat)
*Gelae was abandoned by his family as a child because his eyes changed
colour. He was raised in Moraine's family.
*Exavia's second reference to her "real" Furcadia's afk message: distracted
by shiny objects
*this is the first and only chapter from Gelae's point of view
Chapter 24 (Alluvium)
-Cunner is run down by Exavia. After realizing that he's from Yrdnal, she mistakes him for someone else and kisses him. Learning from her mistake, she takes him to his childhood where she finds out that Cunner was hiding in the sand while Markliam was chased off the cliff by demons. Cunner awakes and watches Exavia fly off.
*Cunner's colours change from childhood to adult
*Cunner also knows martial arts
*Exavia calls Cunner "Cucunner".
*Cunner spends years living in city ruins
*Exavia says that her eyes are green because she's looking for someone
*Cunner awakes before he should (according to Exavia), he is also the
first real furre to watch Exavia fly
Chapter 25 (Exavia's Legacy)
-Mar tries to make peace with Moraine while the both of them are caged, but is unsuccessful. Exavia enters and meets Mar but discovers that she "longer has that legacy". Before Mar can learn what legacy she meant, she starts dancing and Cyiet, Gelae, and Cunner appear. Moraine acts upset as Cyiet and Gelae vanish with Exavia and Cunner.
*Mar remembers Cunner from Yrdnal
*Exavia is a good dancer
*Exavia says that she owns Cyiet, Gelae, and Cunner now. Ironically
all three know martial arts.
-Gorian dreams of the legacy he was supposed to carry, but does not understand the message. When he awakes, he does not remember it.
*first real confirmation that the furre of land is really Kliam the
Archer, Mar's ancestor.
*Espio is revealed as a vamp!
*the "vamping" of a furre requires the colours of the fur and hair
to be reversed. Gorian's light blue fur is dyed teal and his teal
hair is dyed light blue. This is true with Cunner, who's orange fur
was dyed black and his black hair was dyed orange. However, the blood
of vamps are supposed to be self-cursed and as Espio noticed, Gorian's
blood is not cursed.
*Tka was a male musteline in chapter 22, but is a female canine in
this chapter. Oops. =S He/she has quite the talent indeed!
*Gorian the Warrior died inside of a tree?
*Damoxte died on Mount Kuisp of cold exposure
*Confusing chapter to most, the dream contains:
1*Gorian and Kaelin where Kaelin is angry at him for running off with
Mar's vendetta. She warns him that he might lose his destiny just
like Mar did.
2*Gorian approaches Damoxte where she takes him through time to show
him what his legacy entales.
3*Gorian does NOT dream but thinks he does when someone asks him if
he wants to be a vamp. Gorian can only moan a response, which the
vamp takes as a 'yes'.
4*Gorian dreams through the eyes of Gorian the Warrior in his last
few seconds of life. With him are Kaelin, Damoxte, and Kliam (who
looks like Mar with black hair)
5*Gorian watches the stars with Moonlit when they were teenagers
6*Gorian is a four year-old when his father tries to get Gorian asleep.
He finally does and awakes to a mudslide where Dark Harvest enters his
room and takes him away.
7*Gorian the Warrior gets his element, but it was painful He's
there with Kaelin, Damoxte, Kliam, and Pidth.
8*Gorian awakes again to the vamp as she dyes Gorian's fur and hair.
9*Gorian is a four year-old again, crying in Kaelin's arms. Its
assumed its the first moment he arrived after Dark Harvest brought him
there.
10*Gorian and Mar are fifteen years-old, discussing the lack of information
on Gorian's family
11*Gorian the Warrior watches Damoxte die when she tries to reach Pidth
and takes his elements. Gorian tells her that Kliam had been demonized.
12*Gorian "awakes" to Damoxte, the one who sent him on this dreaming
journey. She asks him if he understood. Gorian says he doesn't.
She says that he didn't listen and that he would not remember anything
when he awakes for real
13*Gorian awakes for real while the vamp is finishing the dye.
Espio appears and rescues him from his "vamping".
Chapter 27 (Mountain Fog)
-Damoxte meets Cyiet, Exavia, Gelae, and Cunner. All four see
her despite being a spirit. Exavia takes Damoxte into her own past
where she's still near Allets, but at a different time. Her military
is preparing to battle demons. Exavia explains that this power of
hers is her way of stealing souls.
-Exavia believes that she has Damoxte's soul and that she will follow
her. However just as the group prepares to leave, Cunner stays behind,
saying that he is no longer under her power. Exavia, Cyiet, and Gelae
continue without him and meet up with Kliam the Demon Archer and Almasta.
She explains that she lost Cunner, but learns that Almasta will kill him
anyway and they'll take his soul in that way. Exavia learns that
Gorian and Mar will also die and that Chloria will soon arrive for a vamp
raid and will be killed too.
-Dark Harvest spears Damoxte and keeps her impaled through her mouth
and torso until her spirit is his once again.
*Exavia is working for Kliam, though it seems like she's very unwilling.
*Damoxte calls Kaelin, "lecari". This is a rank below commander.
*Roone and Gorian the Warrior are mentioned but not seen
*Damoxte does not recall Gorian's dream sequence in the previous chapter.
Perhaps she had nothing to do with it at this "time".
*Cunner says that he slipped away from Exavia's power like sand.
*Gelae appears not to be injured. Let me stress the word "appears".
*Damoxte calls Dark Harvest her master.
