Welcome to Elana Wilson's Website
We flew on a  tiny 10 person plane from Iqaluit to Rankin Inlet, the second largest community in Nunavut located on the shores of Hudson's Bay.  I sat directly behind the pilots and watched the moon grow brighter as the sun set.  I'm not sure why the green light is there, but it does give it a very neat spaceship feel, no?
From mid-november to mid-december, I traveled with and occasionally tried to be be useful to a group of Russians, representing regional governments and indigenous groups, who were studying  economic development and co-management as part of the INRIPP-II project*.  The first part of the trip was to a co-management seminar in Khanty-Mansiysk (Siberia) and the second part was a study tour of the Canadian North.
