Things that make the GM say "ARRGGGGH"

"Sometimes, it is just not worth getting up in the morning."

THE EUPHORIA SLEEP INCIDENT

When I finally got the chance to run Queen Euphoria I was ecstatic. The module is one of the best that FASA has ever put out, and what's even better is there is a secret army of bugs just waiting for the unsuspecting shadowrun team. I spent a month preparing for the final assault at the end, knowing my players would jump at a chance to earn 75,000 nuyen for a simple grab. I watched the movie Aliens 12 times getting ready to run the buggies for the first time. (I wanted to scare the players and give them nightmares for weeks.) I even did the annoying thing of figuring out EXACTLY how many bugs would be at the hive.

This was the run I waited a WHOLE YEAR to do. Now was my chance.

Well, once they hit the hive and managed to push through the initial defense and reach the main cocooning room with the shaman and 100+ workers, I was smiling. The team was low on ammo, the only Vindicator Mini-gun was running dry and they were down one team member. It looked bad for the team.

The Cat Shaman, played by my wife, decided to put everything she had into one final spell to take out as many as she could. With all the foci active, all the extra dice from magic pool, and much Karma spent for rerolls my wife cast SLEEP!! Which she gleefully announced out loud.

Do you realize that the flesh form workers only have a willpower of 1? With her magic rating she managed to catch almost all of them (I did add in EVERY mod possible, and rolled for each bug).

If that wasn't bad enough, she did it again!

I watched in horror as the bugs went into their magical slumber. Never to rend and tear at them again...
