Momment of Encounter: 1:32 AM
How It Happened: I was on the computer one day talking to one of my friends, Alex. We were talking about concerts and stuff and she said she was going to see American HiFi. So I asked who was opening up for them, and she tells me that they are opening up for Everclear... my favorite band. So I freaked and BEGGED my mom to let me get a ticket even though I wasn't even sure I would be able to go. It worked. So we planned a trip to Mrytle Beach for the 18th-21st. (I had to pay Alex 20 dollars to stay for the whole concert because she only wanted to see American HiFi...whudduh loser right?)
The 20th: When we got to the concert, we found out that the concert was sold out, so Alex couldn't get a ticket. My mom wouldn't let me go without Alex, so we lied and said she had one and just hung out by the buses. I met this one guy who said that the guys in Everclear and the guys in American HiFi were over at Aligator Adventure (which is right beside the House of Blues). So we waited, and we were begging everybody for a ticket. The American HiFi guys were right behind us playin basketball and we bugged the crap out of them (most likely) by totally interrupting their game to ask for pics and autographs. Well, we were telling a roadie for the warm up band "Flipp" our story about how I couldn't go if she couldn't go. So he said he MIGHT could walk her in to the crowd later. During that time this butt of a security gaurd kept telling us we were to close to the buses. SO I came up with the idea to try and get into a conversation with him. So we walked over to him and asked to have our pictures taken with him. We talked about his favorite bands (The Beatles and the Go Gos) and i totally made up a story about how my dad knew Paul McCartney and mess... yeh right. Well, about 30 minutes after the doors opened the roadie for Flipp came back out and walked Alex into the crowd and we met each other inside. We were pretty close to the stage. It was awesome. American Hi Fi was SO rad, and Everclear...well they speak for themselves. They are awesome. We didn't get to catch Flipps performance because of when we came in. When Everclear played "Rock Star" Art pulled a bunch of people on stage. I couldn't REALLY see Greg because of the angle I was at, but I did discover that he was bald now. So after the concert Alex and I went back around to the buses, and waited for a long time. Pretty soon I noticed the people out there were moving around to the other side of the bus. So I walked over their to see what was causing it... and there stood Arthur Paul Alexakis. My dad had been bugging me to leave for a long time now, but I begged him to let me stay. So I walked over to Art, got him to sign my "disco still sucks" shirt and I got a picture taken (which is at the top of this page) with him. I was so happy. So I left right after I met him. I went to Jamaica the day after that, and when I got back I called Alex to ask her what happened after I left. She said that Craig and Greg both came out afterwards and she got them all to sign her dollarbill. She also said that she saw them in the hotel and got in their elevator and said "rad show" or somethin. That made me mad because she doesn't even like them that much. But o well, I still met Art so its all good. By the way, Art is so freakin hot in person :)
