Chapter 5

"Sparkling Wide Pressure!" Sailor Jupiter hurled the energy towards the black youma, who dodged it neatly.

She hissed sending a wave of black energy back at Sailor Jupiter. She and the rest of the senshi leapt out of the way.

Sailor Uranus charged forward, "We're getting no where with this!" She threw a series of punches and kicks at the smooth skinned youma. "Where is Sailor Moon?!"

Sailor Uranus jumped back as the youma threw some more energy her way. Neptune put her arms up as Uranus bumped into her. "Or even Sailor Isis."

Sailor Mars stamped her foot. "I can't believe Sailor Moon, why is it taking her this long to get here!"

"Sailor Electra's not here either. Maybe she and Sailor Isis would be a big help, they both seem pretty powerful." Sailor Mercury said looking through her visor.

"Forget them," Sailor Uranus growled. "We are stronger than them. We can do this." She nodded at Neptune and they combined their attacks.

"Deep Submerge!"

"World Shaking!"

The two globes screamed towards the youma, but never made it there. A clear bubble knocked them off course and towards Jupiter and Mercury. "Look out!" Neptune screamed.

The two senshi jumped out of the way, but not soon enough. The afterwaves of the explosion sent them both flying.

"Mercury, Jupiter!" Venus cried.

"We're all right." Jupiter stuck a hand up from behind a bush.
No one was paying attention however. A tall man had descended into view. "You soon won't be, Sailor Jupiter."

"Kurai." Uranus spat the name. "What are you doing here? What do you want?"

Kurai turned to look at the Magnificent Soldier. "Don't you realize, Sailor Uranus? How daft can you be? I'm here to kill you and destroy your world." He threw back his head and began to laugh sinisterly.

"Yaaah!"

Kurai broke off mid-laugh. "Ahhh! What the hell?! You little freak!" He began to flail his arms.

Sailor Electra laughed and leaned over to look at Kurai's surprised expression. "Weren't expecting that were ya?!" She tightened her legs around the evil man's neck and pounded her fists on his head.

The rest of the senshi stood stunned. They looked at the small Soldier of Light. She had dropped out of the tree above Kurai and was now sitting on his shoulders beating his head.

"Take that, you big jerk!" Electra pulled on one of his ears, while continuing to slam her other fist against his head.

"Gaah!" Kurai stumbled forward and jerked his arms back trying to grab the girl on his back. "Stupid . . . girl." He choked. Finally one of his arms hit home.

Electra jerked, "Oooow! My eye!" Kurai seized his opportunity, he reached up and grabbed Electra's shoulders painfully. Pinching them extra hard once more, he flipped the blonde over his head and onto the ground. He rubbed his head, scowling at the girl who was rolling to her feet. "Little idiot. Don't think you'll get away with that."

Electra struggled to stop laughing. She tried to scowl back at him. "Don't think you will either!" She collasped back into laughter, falling against Sailor Isis, who had just appeared behind her.

"You are such a dork." She looked down at her friend.

"D-did you see his fa-ha-ha-hace?" Electra stammered through her laughter.

"STOP LAUGHING!" Kurai's face was red and angry now. He cupped his hands together, then thrust them out. His clear bubble-like attack sped towards Electra and Isis. They both dodged. Electra laughed again. "Ha! Missed!" She cracked her knuckles. "Let's dance." She ran at Kurai and began to box him, while keeping up a steady stream of insults.

Sailor Isis rolled her eyes. "Oh jeez."

Sailor Uranus leaned towards Isis, "What is she on?"

Isis sighed. "She drank a lot of soda before we came over. God, she's hyperactive." She looked towards the other senshi, "I'm sorry, I really am." She looked back over at Electra, "Put that down!"

Electra looked up innocently, a large tree branch in her hands. "What?"

"Seriously, are you on crack?" The question came from Uranus.

The Lighthearted Solider giggled as she dodged another attack from Kurai "Nope, just didn't sleep much last night and had a lota caffeine this morning!" She winked outrageously.

By this time the other senshi were laughing too. Uranus shook her head and muttered to Neptune. "What an idiot."

Neptune smiled her gentle smile. "She is certainly something else."

Sailor Isis grabbed Electra's arm as she ran by. "All right, Electra. You've had your fun, now simmer."

"Awww come on." She began to complain, then stopped. " I guess you're right, let's finish this."

"Finally." Isis released Electra, rolling her eyes again. "Let's get them in one sweep." She motioned towards Kurai and the Salmar.

"Um-hm." Electra agreed. She whipped her bow from her back.

"Light Arrow!"

"Purity Spiral!

The pink screw of energy wound around the golden arrow and crashed into Kurai and the youma. The street filled with a blinding light. Uranus and the rest of the senshi had to turn away.
When the light faded, the youma and Sailors Electra and Isis were gone. Kurai winced, mumbled a parting threat to the senshi, then disappeared in an orange crack of lightening.

"I'm here!!" Sailor Moon yelled skidding into the street. "Where's the youma?"

Mercury stood up. "Gone. Sailor Electra and Sailor Isis were already here and they took care of it."

"They did? Well where are they now?"

Jupiter shook her head. "They disappeared when we were all blinded by their attack."

Venus giggled. "Sailor Electra was extra crazy today. I wonder what was up with her." She looked to Sailor Moon, "You should have seen what she did to that Kurai guy. He was so mad at her, I think he blackened her eye."

Mars brushed some dirt off her skirt. "Maybe she forgot to take her Ritalin. Or she's just super sensitive to caffeine."

"Either way, she's psycho." Sailor Uranus stated.

*

Electra bounced down the sidewalk towards Adara's house.

"Ahem, aren't you forgetting something, E?" Adara tugged on one of her friend's curls.

Electra looked down. "I guess so." She looked around and decided it was safe to detransform. A moment later Shannon O'Reagan was bouncing down the sidewalk.

"Don't you ever walk?" Adara jogged a little to catch up.

"Not when I'm this hyper!" Shannon did a quick cartwheel. "Maybe I shouldn't have drank 6 of those energy drinks."

"Gee, ya think?" Adara said sarcastically. "Those are pure caffeine, you know."

"I do now!" Shannon laughed.

"What's on your face?" Adara pulled her friend to a halt.

Shannon reached up a hand to her face. "Where?"

"Ooh, you got a black eye!" Adara gently touched the bruised area.

"Ow!" Shannon recoiled. "I guess Kurai hit me harder than I thought." She ran her fingers over her puffy eye. "Why didn't it go away when we used our attacks?"

"The Purity Spiral doesn't have healing effects like my other attacks." Adara said. "Come on, let's get some ice on your eye."

"All right. I was kind of wondering why I couldn't see as well." Shannon shrugged and skipped up the steps to Adara's house. "What should I tell my mom?"

"Hmmm, I don't know." Adara replied walking into the kitchen.

"What don't you know, Dara?" Adara's older brother Mick sat at the kitchen table munching a bowl of cereal.

"None of your business and why are you eating cereal? It's not breakfast time."

"Cereal's good for the body." Mick said through a mouthful. He swallowed as Shannon entered the kitchen. "Woah, Shan-chan! What happened to you?"

Shannon stuck her tongue out. "Adara and I got into a fight. You believe me?"

Mick stuck another spoonful in his mouth, "Sure."

Adara glared at her brother. "No, you don't." She handed the bag of ice to Shannon. "Come up with something else."

Shannon crossed her arms. "That's my story and I'm sticking to it."

Adara sighed. "Fine." She walked down the hall towards her room.

"Bye, Micky." Shannon waved her fingers at Adara's tawny haired brother before scampering after Adara. She entered the room and shut the door behind her. "I just thought of something. The other senshi."

"Very good, Shannon. You've realized what an idiot you acted like in front of the Planetary Senshi. They are never going to take us seriously."

"No, not that. They must have seen my black eye! They're gonna know who I am!" She put the ice up to her face and dropped to the floor.

"Oh! I bet you're right. They will put two and two together if they see you with a black eye right after they saw Electra get a shiner."

"So, what are we gonna do?" Shannon rolled over to her stomach.

"Nothing. I already know who they are. It's safe." Adara flipped her legs over the side of her butterfly chair.

Shannon raised her eyebrows. "You do?! How?"

"It's obvious if you think about it. Their auras shift when they transform but the 7 senshi still match 7 girls we know."

Shannon tilted her head to the side. "Hmmm. I don't know that many people here." Her green eyes brightened. "Oh! Usagi and Minako and Makoto and Rei and Ami!"

Adara nodded, "And Kaioh Michiru and Tenoh Haruka."

Shannon rolled back over to her back. She giggled, "It is obvious! I can't believe I didn't realize it before! I thought they were awfully familiar.

"Yep." Adara looked down at her friend, who had just stopped laughing mid-giggle. "What's wrong with you?"

"Toss me a pillow. I just crashed." Shannon yawned. "I hate coming off a sugar high."

Adara threw two lavender pillows to the floor. "Well, go to sleep then. I'll call your mom and tell her you're stil over here."

"Thanks," The blonde mumbled sleepily.

Kurai paced the floor of his chambers. "I didn't even get close to the victim today. The Empress will have my head." He ran his hand through his spiky orange hair. "I wish she would take it. It's still pounding from that stupid senshi's fists. The pink one and the yellow one. They almost got me today." He stopped his pacing as a thought struck him. "Sailor Electra. I have faced her before it seems." He swung his heavy door open and shouted down the long hall, "Hasaki!"
Nothing happened. He shouted again and again. Finally a figure appeared at the end of the hallway. "What is it, Kurai?" A women's voice snapped.

"Come here. I have just thought of something."

"Well, it had better be good. You are interrupting my training."

"Just get in here." Kurai said irritatedly.

Hasaki clicked her way down the corridor. Dropping a long sword by the door, she entered the room. "Well?"

Kurai motioned for her to join him at a table across the room. He held up a small crystal globe. The inside was swirling a smoky black color. "Look."

In an instant the black swirled to blue, a blue sky. The scope rotated down. Hasaki leaned in closer. Nine tiny dark figures could barely be seen.

"Closer." Kurai commanded the globe.
Immediately the picture zoomed and everything could be seen clearly. Hasaki watched intently. It was a rare treat for Kurai to share his seeing globe with her. Her crimson eyes widened in surprise as small soldier clad in yellow suddenly dropped out of a tree and landed on Kurai. She began to laugh as the senshi pounded Kurai.

"This is what you wanted to show me?! You getting beat on by a little girl?!" She looked at Kurai. "Oh, thanks. I needed a good laugh today."

Kurai's face reddened. "That is NOT what I wanted you to see." He gritted his teeth to calm his temper. "Forward."

The scene zoomed forward. "Freeze." Kurai said quickly. "There. Now look carefully at that girl." He pointed at the globe. The scene was frozen on Sailor Electra winking impishly.

Hasaki examined the girl. She looked back at Kurai. "What are you getting at?"

Kurai sighed. "She doesn't look familiar to you?" He snapped his fingers and the globe erased. "Black Infinity, Guardian Planet. Nova." He spoke the words clearly to the globe. The black again swirled inside the globe and another senshi came into view. He raised his eyebrow at Hasaki, who had just sworn under her breath. "I see you remember her."

Hasaki nodded fiercely.

"Recall." Kurai stated. The image of Sailor Electra appeared in the globe next to the other girl. "Now look."

The pink-haired women fiddled with a small dagger. "They are identical."

"Precisely." Kurai smirked. "Their faces, eyes, stance, hair, figure, personality - All identical. Only one thing is different, she switched the colors of her uniform around and calls herself something different. What was once green on her uniform is now yellow and vice versa. They must be the same person - Antheia."

"So Sailor Antheia has returned and is on Earth." Hasaki slammed the dagger into the wood of the table. "As if we needed another reason to destroy that planet."

Kurai dug the knife from his desk. He waved it in front of Hasaki's face. "Watch it. That is a nice desk."

Hasaki glared at him, snatching the dagger. "Are you going to tell the Empress?"

"About the desk? No, I'm not a tattletale." "No, you incredible idiot. About Antheia."

"Maybe not just yet."

*

Shannon woke with a start. She was still lying on the floor in front Adara's bed but the light had changed. How long had she slept? She sat up and looked around. Adara had moved from the butterfly chair to her desk on the other side of the room. She stopped typing on her computer when she heard Shannon moving around. "Finally. You've been asleep forever."

Shannon spun around to face Adara, ending up sitting in a cross-legged position. "I was tired. What time is it?"

"After four. Your mom wants you home by six."

"Okay. Did she sound mad? Did you tell her about my eye?" Adara turned around. "No I didn't tell her and I couldn't tell from her tone, she sounded pretty neutral, almost cheery."

Shannon sighed. "She always does that, she's fine in front of other people, but once she gets me alone, she lets me have it. And besides she always liked you. You can dance, you're graceful, you don't get in trouble all the time, you don't get into fights and most importantly you actually learned when she taught you how to ice skate. She'll be soo happy to see I got a black eye."

"Oh Shannon, your mother loves you, that's why she's trying to hard to make something out of you. I think your mom just forgets sometimes that she can't change the fact that you're a crazy mofo who has to do things her own way."

Shannon threw a pillow at her friend. "Call me a mofo. Ha, why don't you look into a mirror."

Adara changed the subject. "Where did Apollo run off to?"

"I have no idea. She does that from time to time, when she needs to think or is just bored she goes and runs around. She'll be back when she's hungry." Shannon winked.

"Ri-i-ight. In all seriousness though, Shan, I think she was upset by what we were talking about last night. She knows something that she's not telling." Adara's dark brown eyes were thoughtful.

"I know. She always acts funny when I talk about my sister."

Adara turned back to her computer, she could hear her friend's sadness in her voice and could see it in her face, no matter how hard Shannon tried to hide it. That's what came of being friends for so long. Last night they had talked long about the events that had occurred so many lifetimes ago. Adara regretted her hot-headed moves that had led her to leave her kingdom behind. She would feel the heavy guilt of the death of Princess Antheia for as long as she continued to be reborn. She should have been there to save Antheia and to aid and guide Electra. If it wasn't for her . . .

"Adara, I'm not so sure I want the other senshi to know who we are." Shannon said, pushing at the bruised skin around her eye. "But it would be shame to cover up such a beauty. Would makeup even cover it?"

"You are such a dork. No, I don't think make up would cover it." Adara put her thoughts on the back burner. "It'll be fine, they would have found out who we are anyway."

"Whatever you say. At least I won't have to worry about seeing Usagi and the rest til Monday." Shannon sighed. "What am I going to tell my mom about my eye? She's going to have a fit."

"Hmm, why not tell her you hit yourself with a spray bottle again?" Adara laughed as Shannon threw a pillow at her.

"I thought we had laid that one to rest!" She put her hands on her hips, trying to look angry. She couldn't hold the facade for long though. "That was pretty funny though, huh?"

Adara giggled. "You were so dumb, you tried to imitate that commercial on TV where the guy spun the bottle of cleaner around on his finger like a pistol."

Shannon laughed ruefully, "But what I didn't realize was that in the commercial they used an empty bottle instead of a full one."

"Your face was so surprised when that full bottle came flying off the back of your hand! Your eye swelled shut and was purple for weeks." Adara laughed again.

"Why did you always have to be around when I made a mistake?" Shannon threw another pillow at her friend.

"Because who would make fun of you if I didn't!" Adara sighed happily.

"I'm not telling her that, guess I'll think of something on the way home. I'm going to go now, be home early for once. Maybe a pleasant surprise will help my case."

"Alright, I'll talk to you later."

*

"Mum?" Shannon walked into the living room of her house, panting slightly from her run home.

"I'm upstairs. Come here and talk to me"

Shannon trudged up the thick-carpeted stairs. *Might as well get this over with.* She turned the corner down the hall to her mother's room. She stopped just outside the doorway. "Whatcha doing, Mum?"

"Just feeding the baby. You're home early." Belle's voice was bright.

Shannon gritted her teeth, knowing how the tone would change as soon as she entered the room. She made her face cheerful and entered the room. "I thought I should come home and clean my room." She kept her good side facing her mother. She walked the length of the room with her bruised eye facing the wall then sat down on the bed.

Belle's eyebrows rose slightly. "Clean your room, huh? Why won't you look at me, Shannon? You are acting more strangely than usual."

"Me? Act strange? You must be kidding." Shannon laughed. "And yeah, I thought my room was getting a little too dirty, even for me."

"That settles it. You are hiding something. Turn around."

"No thanks. If it's all the same to you, I think I'll just keep looking this way.

"Turn around this instant, young lady."

Shannon winced. It was amazing how quickly her mother's tone could change. She turned slowly. "Hi Mum."

Belle took in her breath quickly. "Don't "hi mum" me. What happened?!"

"Well you see, it's a long story . . ."

"Then you'd better start telling now." Belle's grey eyes were stern.

"All right. Adara and I were walking down the street with Apollo. Hey, speaking of Apollo, you seen her lately? Because I was-"

"Solas Shannon O'Reagan tell me what happened right now!" Belle's short patience had run out.

Shannon winced. Ouch, her mom was already breaking out her real name. "Sorry. I was messing around with a hard, bouncy ball over at Adara's. I was throwing it against the wall and one time I threw it too hard and it caught me by surprise because it came back so fast. I put up my hand, but it grazed off my finger tips and hit me in the eye." Shannon finished her lie breathlessly. *Hope she believes that! Probably will, she thinks I'm a major clutz.*

Belle shook her head and sighed with dissapointment. "Shannon. I wish you wouldn't be so careless. Now you are going to look like a fool at the ice show. And I will look like one too, you represent this whole family, next time think before you act."

Shannon sunk down in the bed. "I'm sorry, Mum. I didn't mean to, it just happened."

"I know, everything "just happens" to you." Her mother's voice was hard. Belle stood up from her padded rocking chair. Handing the baby to Shannon, she left the room.

Shannon bounced the baby on her knee. She looked straight into his dark green eyes. "Well, Little Man, that didn't go as badly as I thought. She is pretty mad though." She looked towards the door. "But don't worry Mum, I'm fine. It didn't hurt too badly." She answered the unasked question sarcastically. "It's not like I got it trying to save the planet or anything."
