who knows maybe i was the only the only atheist there 35,000 christians, and mike the atheist at BOB or Bank One Ball Park.

on saturday january 15, 2000 Jerry Colangelo opened the Festival of Faith 2000 saying "I am Jerry Colangelo, and I am a Christian." The Festival of Faith 2000 was at Bank One Ball Park which was built with Maricopa County Taxpayer dollars.

why is mike at a christian festival. mainly because i suspect that our tax dollars paid for it violating both the arizona constition and the federal constition.

while i dont think the maricopa county board of supervisors funded the thing, i think that jerry let the christians use bank one ball park for free, which will cut into the profit the park pays to maricopa county governement, which means the bottom line is maricopa county taxpayers paid for the gig.

here are a few details. ill get back with more later.

while tickets were required to get in to the festival tickets were being given away for free out side the ball park. does that mean the taxpayers were paying for the festival?

the tickets had a price marked on them of $0.00 ie FREE. and were printed up by ETM/Dillad's which i think is the ticket sales arm of dillards. also each ticket had a unique section/row/seat number on them. my question is was every ticket to the festival FREE. which brings up my suspisions that TAXPAYERS PAID for the FESTIVAL.

on the inside they were selling the usuall junk food at outrages prices. but instead of selling dback t-shirts other over priced diamonbacks junk they were selling jesus loves you t-shirts and related christian clothing, posters, music, other christian stuff. is this violation of church and state part of the constition? i dont know but clearly christian stuff if being sold on public property.

everyone who entered the festival got a free 32 page booklett which was printed on glossy 8 1/2 by 11 paper and titled

"A MASSIVE Celebration OF THE MANY FACES of Faith Festival of Faith 2000"

the front page listed a web address of

www.gotothecross.com

on page 1 of book its clear that this not a secular event but a christian event to promote the christian faith. the page reads

"The Mission

Festival of Faith 2000 is a gathering of the body of Christ, to commemorate the birth of Christ, to celebraate our faith in Christ, and to commit ourselves to the mission of Christ in the new millennium."

Page 1 also states that the

Arizona Ecumenical Council a 501(c)3 corporation

accepted the financial responsibility for the festival and was lead by a

another reason that leads me to think that maricopa county taxpayers picked up the tab for the event is that on the top third of page 20 of the booklett they printed

"The Steering Comittee of Festival of Faith 2000 THANKS Mr. Jerry Colangelo for his encouragement and support"

which was followed by a list of 400 other partnering groups.

i suspect that means Jerry Colangelo let them use BANK ONE BALL PARK a taxpayer paid for ball park for free or gave them a sweethart deal where they paid next to nothing for the use of the ballpark the utilitys and expenses - which would mean the maricopa county taxpayers really paid for the FESTIVAL OF FAITH bash with tax dollars violating the Arizona and US constitions.

i wanted to fight this thing back in march but i had to fight linda chapman and paul putz who seem to want to call people names more then eliminate the evils of superstition.
