The Black Cat
I first fell in love with the Black Cat when she appeared on the Spiderman
cartoons I so faithfully followed on television. She liked Spidey a great
deal, but Spidey was already attached to Mary Jane, so it wouldn't work
out. She was strong in her own way, and yet so frail when it came to the
affairs of the heart. To escape it all she just put everything she had
into her work. She has quite a smattering of witty lines, and never for
more than a split moment shows her pain. But I saw that split moment, and
I know quite a number who saw it, and fell in love too.
Bio-Data
Real name: Felicia Hardy
First appearance: Amazing
Spider-Man 194
Favorite quote: "Get your tentacles off my wall-crawler,
four-eyes!" (To Doctor Octopus in Spectacular Spider-Man 75.)
Team affiliation: A loner when she
was a jewel thief, Felicia reformed somewhat when she dated Spiderman. They
shared many adventures and broke up twice (Spectacular Spider-Man 100 and for
good in Spectacular Spider-Man 129). Nowadays, Felicia works alone, although she
often teams with Spidey and was one of a massive team of super heroes during the
Maximum Carnage storyline. (That awful costume she wore during M.C., though--shudder
)
Powers: Currently, Felicia has no superpowers. As a result of a deal with
the Kingpin, she for a time possessed a sporadic "bad luck" ability.
