Why to lie? Because lie make the life little lovelier, let no one ever tell you that, truth is beauty, beauty is truth, let no one ever tell you that, honesty is the best policy. Truth may have its place, indeed it most definitely does, but it is a stark, unpleasing structure with no roses round the door. There are many lies told about truth, but the worse one is that it is good for you. In reality the truth is bad for you, it hurts you, it harrows you, it shows the things, which would bring you enemies and much worst things than that. Even the bonds of friendship will be knotted up with lies. Honesty is not the best policy at all time, and the truth is plain indeed. Even though human created “true - lies”, these are daring lies indeed, because they involve telling truth and nothing else; the nod and the wink with which you tell it keep you safe. And heart is the place from where all the best lies come from. A master like - Jesus, Zarathustra, Lao Tzu the great philosophers of this universe are really hunted for truth through out their life. In their view, religion means many things; its name has to be understood. It means ultimate law. Logos by ultimate law meant that which keeps the whole universe together. Invisible it is, intangible it is. Certainly otherwise the universe would fall apart. Such a vast, infinite universe, running so smoothly, so harmoniously, is enough proof that there must be an undercurrent that connects everything, that joins everything, that bridges everything- that we are not islands. The smallest grass leaf is joined to the greatest stars. Destroy a small grass leaf and you destroyed something immense value to the existence of itself. In existence there is no hierarchy, there is nothing small and nothing great. The greatest star and the smallest grass nothing great, both exists as equal. Hence the other meaning of word religion is justice, equality. “We are what we think. “We are what we think. What these simple words talking about the great purity and impurity of minds, which makes the life happiest and sorrowful. Just imagine for a single moment that all thoughts has ceased… then ask yourself, who are you? If all thoughts cease for a single moment, then who are you? Now answer will be coming from your heart, but not from your mind. That is the truth. You cannot say that you are a Hindu, you are a Muslim or you are a Christian. You definitely cannot say that. All thoughts have ceased. When thoughts cease, who are you? An utter emptiness, nothingness you do not belongs to any community of this world. If you really want to know who are you? Then you have to learn to cease your mind, you need to learn to stop your thoughts. That’s what the meditation. Means going out of mind, dropping the mind and moving in the place called no-mind. And in no mind you known the ultimate truth. The truth is not far away; there are very few fortunate ones in the world who long for it. It is hard to achieve not because of its name but because of our investments in lies. We have investments in lives for lies. Our investment is so much that the very idea of truth makes us frightened. We want to avoid it (the truth), we want to escape from truth. Lies are beautiful escapes- convenient, comfortable. But it will be followed by tremendous frustration and each desire is followed by deep failure. Man developed the nature of rushing in to new lies; if old are known, we immediately invent new lies. Remember that only lies can be invented; truth cannot be invented. Truth already is! Mind feels very good with lies because mind becomes the inventor, the doer. With truth, you have nothing to do, mind ceases, and with the mind the ego evaporates. That is the ultimate risk. If one wants to taste it then he has to move towards that risk.
Our minds are small, our comprehension is limited; we cannot see the whole, we always see a small part. We are like person who is hiding behind his door and looking through a keyhole in the street. We say something is in the future, then it comes in to the present, then it has gone in to the past. In fact time is a human invention. It always now! Existence knows no past, no future. It is always the present.
All that arises from with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make our world.
Speak or act with an impure mind
And trouble will follow you.
As the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart.
All that arises from with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make our world.
Speak or act with a pure mind
And happiness will follow you.
As your shadow, unshakable.” (- Buddha).
Most Christian settles for Sundays, but the Adventists for instance, say it on Saturday. Adventists are American in origin; they say that Christ has come on this earth, on the other hand other believers say that he has to come yet again and that will solve the worlds ill. Jews will tell you that Messiah has not yet come and he has a special relationship with them, because he revealed his laws to the Moses. The Catholic also believes that they have fairly special relationship with God. This is because of the Christ who was the messiah, and has to come. Catholic will tell you, not Moses, but the God protects the Pope against the possibility of the error. However, the Church of England, led by the great liar-Henry VIII, says that neither the Pope nor the Moses has much to do wit it at all. The sovereign who is crowned by church heads the Church. Archbishops and Bishops are also the Lords. Most followers of the various religions will tell you that they will be going to heaven. Opinions vary as to when this might happen. Roman Catholic believes in a spell of purgatory first, doing penance for their sins, but together with Aglicans, they expect to heaven after death. Heaven, and getting there is only room for certain numbers and if you want to get there safely then you should hurry. But Baptists say faith is the only thing, which will send you to golden gates.
If you are a Hindu, you know that you will become another Hindu when you die, but whether it will be as higher or lower caste, will depends on how good you have been. The aim is to reach the absorption in the absolute, but you did have to be very good indeed to manage that. If you were a Muslim you would not stand too much chance of reaching heaven unless you had first traveled to Mecca.
Truth is even hidden in all the minds irrespective of religion but no body want to open that part of the brain to this closed world. Because of fear, they have faith in all the false beliefs. It needs no efforts on your part to invent truth. Truth has to be discovered, not invented. And what is hindering us from discovering it? We have been taught many lies, mountains of lies. Those are the barriers, which go on falsifying the truth, which do not allow our hearts to reflect the truth.
Truth is not a logical conclusion. Truth is existence, reality. It is already here, it has always been here, only truth exists nothing else. Then why we cannot find it? Because from the very childhood we are taught falsities, prejudices, ideologies, religion philosophies …all leading us astray.
Truth is not an idea. You need not to be a Hindu, Mohammedan or a Jew. When one says that he belongs to one of these them he means that he is already got the idea about the truth- idea from Gita, Khoran or Bible but it is totally one-way idea to look at truth. The society, the state, the church, the educational system they all depend on lies. As the child is born they start trapping it in to lies. Nobody has been exploited so much as children- neither the proletariat nor the women’s, nobody. They have to imbibe all the falsehood that you go on forcing up on them. They have to be Hindu, Mohemmadns, Jainas, or communist. Whatsoever you are interested in putting in to their minds, you go on putting it in.
Mind is desire and you going on filling yourself with more and more desires, ambitions, wealth. And you completely, longing power for prestige, wealth. And you completely forget there is a heart beating, which is the truth, reality of life. Your hearts are still being nourished by the truth, but you are not there. You have vacated the place. You are living in your head. You never descend from there. Come back to the heart, and then you will be able to know the truth as the truth and false as the false. That’s what the enlightenment achieved by the great masters like Buddha. But from where to begin? Begin from seeing false as false. That’s what the great master’s like Buddha, Mohammed, and Jesus had done. And hence they appear to be negative, appears to be too destructive. But they know well to reach truth; the only way is to become negative and destructive. For example, Jesus says- “It has been told to you in the past that tit for tat is the law. If somebody throws brick at you, react by throwing a rock. But I say; if somebody hits you on one cheek, give him the other cheek too.” There we can make a person ashamed who is a wrong doer.
Mohammad is against all kinds of images of god, because his people were worshiping for centuries, they had three hundred and sixty five Gods- one for every day of the year. The “Kaaba” of Mohammad’s days was one of the greatest temples on the earth-dedicated to 365 Gods! Mohammad destroyed all the idols. It looks negative.
Buddha says: There is no truth in the Vedas, in the Upanishads. Be aware of beautiful words, and be aware of philosophic speculation. Don’t waste your time with hairsplitting, with logic. Be silent! Throw the Vedas out of your head, only then can you be silent. He looks negative. He looks nihilistic, he looks dangerous- but that is the only way you can be helped towards truth.
With complete truth man is nothing but a form of potential God- i.e., a master. Unless the divine nature flowers, opens its buds, unless oneself become a lotus, a one thousand petaled lotus, one can never be contented.
Soren Keirenberg said that religion means inwardness- going into your interiority. But the simple words “go in” have become so difficult to be understood. Mind only knows how to go out. It has no reverse gear in it. But one can reverse it (mind). Thinking is nothing but the process of going out, and non-thinking is the process of going in. No- thoughts…and you are suddenly in. Hence, to be really religious means to take rebirth; again becoming like a child, dropping, all that the society has given to you. Religion is a rebellion- a rebellion against all that has been forced on you. A rebellion to not become a victim of circumstances.
It is just an accident to be born in India, Pakistan, England, Russia or Japan. It is just accident to be born in Hindu family or Christian or Muslim. Due to these accidents the essential nature has been lost, to gain back the essential nature back in one has to be reborn.
Give up the old ways …old ways means, the way of desire, the way of hate, the way of stupid. Don’t function of hatred and don’t desire things, possession. And don’t be superstitious, foolish. If one can do this much, if one can take this leap in to unknown (.... because past is known). When one can able to drop the past, then he will become vacuum. That vacuum has to be passed through. It is painful, that is the price we have to pay for truth. Once one have passed that vacuum: known the truth and finds the peace. Then truth is known and truth follows peace like a shadow.
Masters landed on this earth, they dedicated their lives for bringing people from darkness to light. They tried to keep truth alive in this universe. They decayed everything in this earth for the awareness of human beings. But still this earth is meshed in the jumble of “true –lies.” And the life is sinking in the depth of ocean of lies.
