"No way! Go find Jade! She's your teacher!" Pyrus replied as he ran away from the Ice Princess.

"Jade is busy on the bridge!! Get back here!" Zera answered, still in pursuit.

"Why do you have to try your training on ME?! Why don't you try it on Femur or something?!" Pyrus replied as he stopped in the middle of the corridor, tired of running.

Zera came to an abrupt halt, almost falling over from the momentum. She quickly righted herself and regained her regal composure, "Because, Femur is my elder!! It's not right! You're the same age as me.. so that's ok!"

"No.. forget it!! Besides, you'd just end up getting hurt!" he replied.

"You think you're that great?!" she replied, nose in the air.

"I'm better then a warrior wanna-be like you!" he answered.

"Oh really??" Zera challenged. Suddenly, she swooped low to the ground, and kicked Pyrus' legs out from under him. He fell with a thump.

"OUCH!!" he shouted as he landed hard on his rear.

Zera stood over him, smiling.

Pyrus frowned and got back to his feet, "Ok.. fine.. you caught me off guard ONE time.. let's see you do it again!" He quickly held himself in a ready position. "Let's go!"

A dog-eared, white-haired creature stared at the hideous demon that slept a mere 20 feet in front of him, "Are you sure about this, Kagome? How about if I just rip her heart out?!" he whispered, and unsheathed his claws.

"She'd wake up and open another portal before you could touch her! Just trust me.. I can get her!" A black-haired, teenage girl replied. She pulled back on the bow and arrow in her hand.

The two were hiding behind a bush, out of sight of the sleeping demon. Now, if only they could kill it before it woke up...

"... and if you miss it?" the white-haired creature asked.

"InuYasha, stop being so pessimistic!!" Kagome replied, "Or I'll tweak your little doggy ears again!"

"They are NOT doggy ears!! And if you try it, you'll be lying beside that creature.. dead!"

Kagome ignored him, and focused on her target, "I just need to get a little closer..."

InuYasha snorted, "Feh! Get as close as you want! Maybe she'll wake up and eat you!"

Kagome put the bow and arrow down with a sigh, "Well, it's not like you'd care anyway. You'd love to have these all to yourself, wouldn't you?" she said, and held up a small vial of silver jewel shards her and the dog-demon had found during their adventures.

"I'll tell you what.. how about if you give that vial to me. I'll keep it safe for you..." the half-demon replied, an evil glint in his eye.

Kagome let out a laugh, "Yeah.. like I'm stupid enough to fall for that! Give me a break!"

The dog-demon bared his fangs slightly, "Which part of you would you like broken..?" he replied snidely.

She frowned, "NO part, thank you very much. And if you so much as TRY it, I'll say that word again..."

"Not if I kill you before you can speak!"

Kagome rolled her eyes, "Forget it! Just be quiet! I need to concentrate!" She raised the bow and arrow again.

"You're going to miss..." InuYasha taunted.

Kagome turned on him, "You're not helping! Geez.. you have to be the worst person to work with!!" she shouted angrily.

"It's not like I asked to be stuck with a stupid mortal like YOU!" he shouted in reply.

The sound of their arguing woke the sleeping demon up. The strange creature looked at them with empty red eyes, and let out a howl.

"GREAT! Now you've gone and woken her up!! Good job, dog-boy!" Kagome shouted sarcastically.

"ME?! You're the one who..." he stopped when he saw the demon open a portal, "Dammit!! She's getting away.. Come on! Move your slow mortal butt!!" he shouted as he ran towards the demon, pulling Kagome behind him.

She was unable to pull away from the super-strong dog-demon, "Stop, InuYasha! We'll be pulled through the... AAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHH!!"

"Come at me!" Zera said. Pyrus didn't move, "I said, come at me!!"

"You know, Zera.. this may not be such a good idea. Really.. I don't want to hurt you.. I.." Suddenly, a loud howl interrupted Pyrus. "What the..?"

A bright white light temporarily blinded both Zera and the fire prince. From the bright light emerged something they had never seen before. It's eyes were red, it's skin an ugly brown. It was female... But a hideous female. The thing let out a howl again.

Zera's eyes went wide, "Pyrus?!! What is this?! A new beast drone?!" The Ice girl's voice trembled.

"I.. I don't know..." Pyrus whispered as he tried not to bring attention to himself, "Don't make any sudden moves.."

Two more bodies followed the monster through the portal, "Why don't you ever listen..?" a female voice shouted.

"At least I'm trying to capture the thing. That's more then I can say for YOU!" a male voice replied.

In another flash of the light, the demon disappeared. The first portal disappeared as well. When the bright light dispersed, two figures could be shown. One was a human female, and was wearing a black t-shirt, and overalls. The other was male.. but he didn't look very human at all. He wore a strange, baggy red robe, had long white hair, dog ears, and yellow eyes. Both Pyrus and Zera had a sudden urge to touch the fluffy white ears. Both resisted that urge. "Where did it go?!?" the female asked.

"Maybe the sound of your voice scared it!" the male snapped.

Pyrus and Zera looked at the two before them, "Umm.. excuse me.. uh.. but.. uh..." Pyrus was at a loss for words.

Finally, the two new arrivals noticed them. The female's eyes went wide, "MORE demons?!!" she asked.

The male unsheathed very sharp claws, "I'll kill them..." he said.

"KILL us?! Are you from the Beast Planet??!" Zera asked.

"Beast- what??" the girl asked. Then she looked at the strange inhuman male beside her, "Actually.. I don't think they're demons after all. Put your claws away, InuYasha!"

"But I want to kill SOMETHING!!" he replied.

The girl looked at him, and narrowed her eyes, "SIT!!!" she shouted.

The creature identified as InuYasha let out a shout, and was thrown a few feet away.. landing ungracefully on his face. "Damn you!!" he muttered, then let out a string of swear words directed at the girl.

The girl ignored him, and fixed up the ribbon that held her long hair back. She smiled at Pyrus and Zera, "Hi.. my name is Kagome Higurashi! That guy over there is InuYasha. Don't worry.. he won't kill you as long as I'm here.."

"I'm Prince Pyrus.. and this is Lady Zera," Pyrus explained.. He looked over at InuYasha, who had just started getting back up, "How did you..??"

Kagome knew the question, "See those beads around his neck?" she asked. Pyrus did see them. She smiled, "InuYasha is a dog-demon. Demons are a pretty violent bunch. The only thing that stops him from killing me are those beads. He can't take them off, so whenever I shout SIT.. he..."

InuYasha let out another shout as he was thrown down on the floor again. Kagome looked at him, and put a hand over her mouth to stiffle a giggle, "STOP it!" he shouted.

She stopped giggling and tried to apologize, "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to..."

"Just shut up..." InuYasha muttered as he lay on his stomach. He tapped his claws on the floor, and casually propped his chin up with his other hand in an attempt to save SOME of his dignity.

Kagome shrugged and turned back to Pyrus and Zera, "Anyway, whenever I say that word, he ends up flat on his face. It's come in handy a few times."

"Yeah.. great.. now that we all know each other.. did you see a demon pass by here??" InuYasha started as he stood up.

"It wouldn't happen to be big and brown, would it??" Zera asked.

"That would be the one!" Kagome replied.

"It disappeared in a really bright flash of light..."

Kagome sighed, "It's still here somewhere.. I can sense it.."

"Sense it??" Pyrus asked.

Kagome looked at him, "It's a long story. See this??" She held up the vial of jewel shards, "Whenever a demon has one of these shards, I can sense them. I have to get the shard away from the demon you just saw.."

"What would happen if you don't?" Zera asked.

"Well.. each shard enhances a demon's- " she glanced at InuYasha, "-or a half-demon's powers. If a creature with demon blood had the WHOLE jewel..." she shivered as she turned back to Pyrus and Zera, "I wouldn't want to be around to find out what it could do," She pointed to InuYasha, "Unfortunately, he's always trying to take these things from me and use it for his own purposes!! But I sort've need him since I can't fight the demons on my own.."

"Doesn't sound like a great deal.." Pyrus answered.

"Nope.. not at all. But then.." she smiled, "I'm the only one who can sense where the jewel shards are.. so he's out of luck if he wants to find them himself.."

"Ok.. now that you told them our whole story, can we get on with our mission?!" InuYasha snapped.

"I told you.. the demon is still here!" Kagome answered. Then she looked at Pyrus and Zera, "Where is 'here' anyway?"

"You're on the Ice Ship Aurora!" Zera answered.

"Ice ship? Like.. a space ship?!?!" Kagome said, eyes wide with excitement, "FOR REAL?!"

"What the hell is a space ship?!" InuYasha asked.

"Space ships! You know.. with creatures from other planets and stuff," Kagome answered.

"Other planets??! Yeah.. right!" InuYasha replied.

Kagome pointed to the two people in front of her, "Well.. these guys aren't demons, and they're not from Earth.. so obviously they're from another planet!"

InuYasha opened his mouth to protest, but realized she was probably right.

"Your ears.. are they real?!?" Pyrus asked.

InuYasha glared at Pyrus, "YES THEY ARE!" he snapped.

"Could I touch them??" Zera asked.

"NO YOU CAN'T!!!!" He yelled angrily.

Kagome giggled again and smiled, "Everyone asks him that," she explained.

InuYasha glared at her, "Stop smiling...! You're too happy all the time!" he snapped, though far be it from him to admit she had a cute smile.

Kagome just shook her head, "So I should be dark and brooding like you then?"

"Feh..! Can we stop talking and find the demon already!" InuYasha asked.

Suddenly, the sound of gun fire and a woman yelling echoed down the hall, "It seems like Jade has found the demon FOR you.." Zera replied. "I don't think you're going to have to worry about it much longer!"
