			3 Ancient Romances
                                                   Chapter 8


At breakfast Damon and Mina didn't speak to each other. Serena, Endymion,
Darren and Lita made up for their lack of conversation. Serena was
showing everyone the pink tinted diamond ring Endymion had given to her
whil Lita was showing off the ring Darren had given her, an emerald.
suddenly Mina heard someone call her name.
	" What?" she asked snaping her head up.
	" Mina, didn't you hear me talking to you? You are in outer space
this morning! Didn't you sleep last night?" Lita asked. Mina didn't
answer. " Anyway, I was asking if you had decided on who you will marry?"
Lita repeated.
	" No, I haven't," Mina replied. Lita decided not to press the
matter, her friend looked like she had been up all night!
	" So, Darren, when will YOUR bethrothal ceremony be?" Damon
asked.
	" About a week after Serena and Endymion's," Darren replied, then
he smiled at Lita(you know that goofy smile people in love have). Darren
looked so funny that Damon was about to burst out laughing. HE turned to
Endymion to see if he saw Darren's smile, but Endymion was smiling
exactly the same way at Serena. Luckily Damon was able to keep his
laughter from erupting, a sharp kick from Mina also helped. She had seen
what he was about to do. Damon suddnely got quiet at the thought of his
friend. She hadn't spoken ot him at all, how did she feel about last
night, he wondered. Endymion and Darren saw their cousin's change in mood
and decided ot talk to him. They excused theirselves and got Damon to
come with them.
	" Now that they're gone, we can have a little talk," Serena said.
Lita agreed, but Mina just kept silent.
	" Earth to Mina!" Lita called.Mina glanced at her friends.
	" Hey, what's wrong?" Serena asked. " You've been this way ever
since this morning."
	" I know, sorry," Mina mumbled.
	" Mina, you can tell us," Lita told her.
	" Fine, lets go talk in your chamber, Lita," Mina said. Lita
agreed and they all walked to Lita's chamber. Once the door was shut Lita
told Mina to tell them whatever it was she would tell them. Mina took a
deep breath and said,
	" LAst night in the garden, Damon tried to kiss me."
Serena and Lita looked surprised.
	" What do you mean 'tried to kiss you' ?" Serena asked.
	" The chimes rang before he could," Mina replied.
	" Well, I don't really see what's wrong hear. You have to get
married and he's a great guy, and your friend," Lita said.
	" Don't you see? That's just it, he IS my friend, he's my BEST
friend. I've know him forever," Mina said falling down on the bed where
Serena and Lita were sitting.
	" Do you love him MIna? I mean are in love with him?" Serena
quitly asked.
	" I don't know! I just..don't.. know," Mina replied. She had a
worried expresion on her face.
	" Then you have to go find out," Lita told her. " Serena and
Endymion are friends and it worked out for them. You have to go talk to
him."
	" No I don't! What I need to do is get out of here! I'm going to
ask Queen Serenity for permision to go home. I might not come back," Mina
told her friends.
	"WHY!?" They both asked in unison.
	" Because, I'm scared," Mina replied and left to go talk to Queen
Serenity.

Queen Serenity granted Mina permission to return home. Mina had her bags
packed in an hour. Lita and Serena, however, were trying to find Damon.
They finally found all of the boys in the meadows behind the palace.They
ran over to them.
	" Why are you in such a hurry?" Darren asked as the two came to a
stop right in front of him.
	" We have to talk to Damon, it' an emergency!" Lita told him.
	" Well, then talk!" Damon told them.
	" It's Mina," Serena said. " She's going home."
	" WHat!? Whay?" Damon asked. Lita and Serena told him about their
conversation with Mina.
	" If you hurry you can catch her before she leaves." Damon didn't
need to be told twice, he was out of the meadows and on his way to the
transprotation pad in the blink of an eye.

	Mina was just about to step int on to the pad when someone called
out "WAIT!" Mina spun around and saw Damon running towards her. He ran up
and caught her arm.
	" Mina, wait," he told her breathlessly.
	" Why? Queen Serenity said that I could go home, my busness here
is finished," Mina turned to step onto the pad but again Damon stoped
her.
	" No, you still have buisness here."
	" damon, I have to go Princess Serenity is getting married, she
doesn't need me anymore."
	" Princess Venus, I'm afraid if you're going to go you have to go
soon," the gaurd said.
	" Mina, please," Damon pleaded.
	" Damon if Princess Jupiter wasn't marring your cousin she'd be
leaving too. I'm not needed here anymore, so I must go home," Mina told
him.
	" I need you. Mina I'm in love with you, I can't live without
you. Please, don't go," Damon said one more time. " If you love me don't
leave."
Mina stared at him, she knew she loved him, she couldn't live without
him.
	" I love you," Mina said. She politly told the gaurd that she
wouldn't be leaveing. He shut off the transportation chamber and left,
grumbling that these kids are always changing their minds.
	" You love me?" Damon asked.
	" Yes," Mina replied. Damon took one look in her deep blue eyes
and knew it was the truth.
	" If I try to kiss you again are you going to run away?" Damon
quietly asked.  Mina shook her head no. Damon took at step closer to her.
He tilted her chin upwardsr. Min closed her eyes. Damon leaned down and
kissed her gently. His hands rested on her waist and Mina's hands came up
to rest behind his neck. ' I really DO love him!' Mina thought.
