			Happily Ever After?
			     Chapter 3

Venus walked down the long hall that lead to her chamber. She was very
tired after having to break up Mars' and Jaedite's fights all day long.
Venus wasn't looking where she was going and ran right into Princess
Serenity.
	"I'm sorry, Princess," Venus said, "wait a minute, aren't you
supposed to be in  your chamber by now?"
	"Well, yes," Serenity answered uneasily.
	"Where were you that you are just coming in so late?" Venus
asked.
She was the leader of the Senshi, which made her the Princess' protector,
and if anything happened to Serenity, Venus would be the one the blame
fell on.
	"I was out in the garden, watching the sunset with--" Serenity
was cut off by Venus.
	"With who?"
	"IF you had given me a chance to finish, I would have told you I
was in the garden with Prince Endymion!" Serenity said angrily. She
walked past Venus and into her chamber, slamming the door. 'Well how was
i supposed to know that?' Venus thought and retired to her chamber, worn
out from the long day.



			*		*		*
Sun shone through the windows waking up Prince Endymion. 'Who opened the
curtains?' he thought sleepily.
	"Get up, Endymion, " a voice chirped at him.
	"I want to sleep," he mumbled into his pillow.
	"No, get up this minute," the voice said.
Endymion opened one eye and saw his mother standing there hands on her
hips.
	"But, mother, I want to _sleep_," he tried again, but it was no
use, his mother whipped the covers off of the bed letting the cold
morning air in. "All right, all right! I'm up!"
	He leapt up from the bed and his mother left so he could get
dressed. Soon Endymion opened the door stifling a yawn, fully dressed and
ready for the day.

			*		*		*
There was a knock on Serenity's door waking her up.
	"Come in," Serenity said horsely.
She really didn't want to see anyone because she had a pounding headache
and her throat hurt awfully bad. The door opened and Queen Serenity
entered.
	"Are you all right Serenity? You don't sound good," her mother
asked worriedly.
Serenity was lying on her bed and Queen Serenity came up next to her and
sat down.
	"I don't feel well," Serenity whispered.
The queen felt her child's forehead, 'She's burning up!' she thought.
	"You just wait here, I'm going to get Sailor Mercury to come see
you," Queen serenity said.
she found the Senshi on the training grounds and brought Mercury right up
to the Princess. Mercury typed quickly on her computer.
	"Do you know what's the matter with her?" the elder Serenity
asked anxiously.
	"Yes, she seems to have some kind of flu," Mercury announced.
	"Can we do anything about it?" the Queen asked.
	"I don't know," Mercury answered. "I have no idea where this came
from, there is nothing like this on the Moon."
	"Where do you think it came from?" Queen Serenity asked.
	"I think that it could be a type of flu found on the Earth. I
suggest that we have Queen Alexis  visit Princess Serenity," Mercury
finished typing and put her computer away. Queen Serenity quickly called
for Queen Alexis. Soon the Earth Queen was in Serenity's rooms examining
the child.
	"Well, Sailor Mercury, you were right about this flu coming from
Earth," Queen Alexis said. "Most of the people get it about once in their
lives. This is not a dangerous disease, even to a lunar person, but there
is no cure. Princess Serenity will be sick for a few days and then get
better."
	"Thank you so much Queen Alexis," Queen Serenity said.
	" You are welcome Queen Serenity, the disease is contagious
though if you haven't had it before. May I suggest that all of the
guards, Senshi and yourself not visit the Princess to much until she is
well unless it is an emergency?" Queen Alexis asked. "I will take care
her."
	"Of course, thank you," Queen Serenity said good-bye to her
daughter and she and Mercury left.

Queen Serenity gave the orders at breakfast that no one was to see the
Princess unless it was an emergency.
	"Why?" everyone asked.
	"Princess Serenity is sick with a kind of flu that's found on the
Earth, Queen Alexis said that she will be better in a few days. However
we don't want anymore of us to get sick, so until she's well I request
that you do not visit her." Queen Serenity said. After breakfast Endymion
attended to official matters with his father and then was turned lose to
do what ever he pleased. The Prince was very bored and was walking down a
hall in the palace when his mother came out of a door.
	"I thought I had heard you walking about, Endymion," she said. "I
need you to sit with Princess Serenity while I go help your father with
some papers. You are one of the only people here who have had the flu and
can watch her without getting sick."
	"Okay," he said. Endymion walked into the room and found Serenity
asleep in her bed. The whole room had a cheery air to it and her bed was
right under a big bay window so that sunlight streamed across her. A
chair had been pulled up beside the bed and Endymion pulled it a small
distance from the bed and sat down.  He got restless quickly and looked
around for something to do. Endymion noticed a row of pictures across the
Princess's dresser. He quietly got up and walked over to look at them.
The pictures were of Serenity and her family. There were many pictures of
Queen Serenity, Queen Serenity and Princess Serenity on the dresser.
There was one picture which was obviously Serenity's cousins. Then there
was a picture of Queen Serenity holding a small baby with a strange man
beside her. 'That must have been Queen Serenity's husband,' Endymion
realized. The Queen's husband had been killed a year after Princess
Serenity's birth, he had been killed in a fire. 'It must be hard to grow
up not having a father,' Endymion thought. Just then Serenity woke up.
She rolled over expecting to see Queen Alexis still sitting there, but
instead she saw Prince Endymion standing near her dresser looking at the
pictures on it.
	"Queen Alexis you sure look funny," Serenity joked horsely.
Endymion turned from the dresser to the bed.
	"Oh, you're awake, I hope you don't mind my looking at your
pictures," Endymion said.
 The Princess shook her head, her throat being to raw to talk more than
she already had.
	"Sorry that you're sick," Endymion said, trying to make small
talk. "But my mother says that you should be all better in just a few
days.
Serenity nodded her head. Just then Queen Alexis came back. She thanked
Endymion for staying with the Princess then went back to taking care of
Serenity.

A week later Princess Serenity was fully recovered. She was always
outside, as usual. Suddenly Serenity felt a hand on her arm. She quickly
looked up and saw one of the Elder Senshi standing there. 'That's odd,
mother usually sends the younger Senshi to come get me if I'm needed,'
she thought.
	"Princess Serenity, your mother needs to speak with you, in
court," the Elder Mars said.
	"Thank you," Serenity replied and followed the Elder Mars inside
and to the court room. When Princess Serenity entered the room she saw
that a court meeting was indeed in session. Quickly she got in her seat.
Elder Mars went back to her seat. Serenity looked around, none of the
younger Senshi _or_ Generals were there.
	"Serenity," her mother addressed her. "we have called this
meeting to discuss you and Prince Endymion. We are concerned that you two
are not really trying to get to know each other."
	"Prince Endymion and I spend some time together," serenity
answered.
	"But not without being told to dear. Queen Alexis, King Brian and
I aren't quite sure what to do to make sure you two will not be total
strangers when you get married," Queen Serenity said. "Do you have
anything to say?"
	"Yes," PRincess Serenity answered. "I think that you should just
forget about the whole thing!." her voice got louder as she spoke. "Maybe
you should just let us actually find someone we _love_ to marry instead
of forcing us to marry someone we really don't love!" Serenity shouted
her final words and ran angrily out of the court room. She didn't
understand why her mother had chosen Prince Endymion, of all people for
her to marry. They had never met, except when they were small children.
Her mother and Queen Alexis were friends, but you usually married to gain
alliance with another kingdom. Serenity ran to her chamber. Queen
Serenity sat stunned for a few minutes, as did Queen Alexis and King
Brian.
	"I'm sorry about that," Queen Serenity apologized. "Would you all
please let me have a few moments alone with my advisors?"
	"Of course," King Brian said. He and Endymion got up and left.
Queen Alexis got up, but whispered into Queen Serenity's ear before she
left.
	"Was she wrong?"
Queen Serenity replied that she did not know. The elder senshi all filed
out.
	"Venus, please stay," Queen Serenity said,and caught her by the
sleeve as she walked past.
Venus returned to her seat, and the Queen dismissed her advisors. They
walked out looking very puzzled.
	"Venus, you are not only the head of my guard, you are my
friend," Queen Serenity said.
	"I know, my Queen, and I'm very sorry, I'm not quite sure what
just happened," Venus said forlornly.
	"It's alright Venus. But are you sure of what you saw, when those
two met when they were five?" Queen Serenity asked.
	"Yes, I'm sure of what my vision meant." Venus answered after
thinking for a moment. "I'm also sure of the bond between the two."
When Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity were first introduced to each
other when they were around five or six years old the Elder Venus had
been present. She had felt a strong bond between the two and that night
had a vision in which it was made quite clear to her that when the Prince
and Princess were both 18 they would find out they were in love with each
other. Venus had told the Queen and the Queen had told Queen ALexis.
However it appeared by Princess Serenity's behavior that there might be
something wrong, as the vision was not coming true. As for the bond Venus
spoke of, it was commonly called a star bond, meaning that the stars had
selected these two people to be partners for life. Most people were not
willing to believe that the stars had anything to do with it, but it was
a most powerful bond. The bond forms when two people first meet, they
usually don't realize that they are star bonded to another person until
some event happens to make them aware of it. However this bond is not as
powerful as the soul bond which some people talk of and it sometimes
takes awhile for the two participants to realize what happened. This
event usually happens around the age of 18, and if one of the Goddesses
of Love(one of the Princesses or Queen's of Venus) is present they can
feel the bond when it forms at the first meeting. They also receive a
vision telling them the exact age when the two people will fall in love.
	"Well, could you have been mistaken? Could Serenity or Endymion
have a star bond with someone else?" Queen Serenity asked, she wanted her
daughter to be happy, but so far it wasn't working out.
	"No, I'm quite sure of what I saw and felt. Unless....." Venus
trailed off.
	"Unless what?" Queen Serenity asked urgently.
	"Unless the event that brings the star bond into existence hasn't
happened yet," Venus replied.
	"What's that supposed to mean?" the Elder Serenity asked, she
didn't know a good deal about the star bond only the venusians really
knew a lot .
	"What I felt was the presence of a star bond, the star bond had
not yet come into existence, meaning it was not active, but it was there.
It takes a particular kind of event that the two people who have a star
bond share for the star bond to become active, or exist. The event is
different for all of the people, for some it's their first kiss, for
others the first time they meet as adults. There is also the possibility
that this even t has already happened, but the Prince and Princess are
deining it because it a) scared them and/or b) they do not want to be
forced into marrying ANYONE even if they are in love." Venus finished her
explanation.
	"Well, the what are we going to do?! If  b) is true then they
will never want to marry because they are both so studorn!" Queen
Serenity exclaimed.
	"Wait, if the event has not already happened it is bound to
happen before one of the turns 19. And if the  star bond has already been
activated, eventually they will make themselves so miserable that they
will have to accept it." Venus advised.
	"Thank you Minako," Queen Serenity said, using Venus's real name
to express the depth of her gratitude.
	"You are very welcome Serenity," Venus replied.
Then Queen Serenity called in Queen Alexis to discuss what to do in the
meantime, while they waited for their children to fall in love.
