HAPPILY EVER AFTER? - Chapter 4
Serenity slammed her door and sat down on her bed. 'Why does mother think
she had the right to chose who I will marry?' Serenity thought angrily.
She was sure that her mother would be along shortly to punish her for
such an outburst. However after half an hour, Queen Serenity had not come
and Serenity had clammed down a little. 'I haven't seen much of the
Senshi recently, maybe I'll go visit them,' Serenity got up and went to
see the Senshi.

Prince Endymion was in his chamber waiting for Queen Serenity to finish
talking to her advisors and his mother. PRincess Serenity's outburst had
surprised him, but sooner or later he probably would have done the same
thing. The funny thing was the more he thought about not having to marry
Serenity, the more he missed her. 'No! I WILL NOT marry her! I will not
be forced to marry anyone!' he thought. Ever since she had pricked her
finger on the rose, he had missed her presence when she wasn't around.
Endymion sighed, he felt very confused, on one hand he missed her, on the
other hand he didn't want to have anything to do with her because his
parents chose someone for him. Endymion sighed, maybe he'd ask Kunzite
for advise.

Princess Serenity was sitting in the garden on the stone wall, the senshi
had been in training with the generals and Venus seemed to have her hands
full with Mars and Jaedite still at each other's throats. Serenity
thought about all that had happened int the past weeks. She wasn't
officially engaged to Prince Endymion yet, but he had suddenly walked
into her life. She tried to think of what she would be doing right now if
he hadn't come. 'I'd be bored out of my mind,' was the answer. Endymion
had a certain quality of excitement around him, and this past week
whenever she had been with him she had never been bored. In fact, she had
had fun, and got very lonely when she wasn't with him. 'Maybe mother was
right to-- NO!' she thought shaking her head as if to rid her mind of the
thought, 'No I won't marry him!'
Serenity looked over into the sky, the sun was setting, that same
beautiful sunset as she had seen with Prince Endymion. 'I wish he was
here!' her heart said while her mind tried to free herself of those
thoughts. Finally after a few seconds she stopped struggling with her
emotions. 'You are in love with him Serenity, every moment you think of
him and want to see him. You can't deny it any longer, you're miserable
without him!' she told herself sternly.'But I'm still so confused!' she
thought miserably. When the sun had sunk well below the horizon Serenity
got up and started in.

Endymion found Kunzite, but he was busy trying to break up a fight
between Jaedite and Mars. He decided to go to the garden. When he got
there, Endymion stopped short. Serenity was already sitting on the stone
wall watching the sunset. So Endymion stood there watching her. 'She's so
beautiful, ' he thought then another thought came to his mind, strait
from his heart. 'I love her!' he realized. Endymion wanted to go out
right then and hug and kiss her and tell Serenity that he loved her. But
he didn't, he was afraid that she wouldn't love him, also how could he
love someone his parents had chosen for him to marry? He watched her get
up from the wall and start to come in. 'I can't let her see that I was
watching her!' he thought frantically and turned around the corner.

Serenity started to run, she knew that it was late and she had probably
missed dinner. As she ran inside someone came around the corner and she
ran right into them. Serenity hit the ground with a thump, while the
other person fell against the wall. When she looked up Serenity saw who
she had ran into. Prince Endymion was pushing himself away from the wall.
"Where were you going in such a hurry?" Endymion asked her as he
reached out to help her up.
Serenity took his hand and he pulled her up off of the floor.
"To dinner, that is if there still is any dinner, I must be
terribly late," Serenity said worriedly.
"Actually, dinner hasn't been served yet. Your mother and mine
are still in the court room." Endymion said.
"Really?" Serenity asked, she couldn't believe her good luck.
"Really, Queen Serenity and my mother are still holed up in court
discussing 'important matters'." Endymion said.
"Yeah, I can guess what the 'important matters' are, thinking up
a punishment for me!" Serenity said disgustedly.
Endymion decided to not respond to that last comment, as the Princess was
obviously angry. He was just going to change the subject when the door to
the training grounds burst open and out ran Nephlyte, Jupiter, Zoicite,
and Ami.
"What's going on in there?" Serenity asked Jupiter.
"Mars and General Jaedite are trying to kill each other again,
and Venus and General Kunzite aren't having any luck in stopping them!"
Jupiter replied.
"We all figured that it would be safer out here, than in there,"
Nephlyte informed the Prince and Princess.
Ami and Zoicite nodded in agreement. They all headed for the Elder Senshi
quarters, to see if they could help to stop this. Endymion and Serenity
peered through the doors and saw Mars and Jaedite standing with arms
crossed and their backs facing each other. Venus and Kunzite had been
able to get the two to stop fighting using their powers or their fists.
However the two where still at odds with each other.
"FINE!" Venus suddenly yelled, startling everyone. "IF you two
want to fight, go ahead! But I have about had it with trying to break up
your fights! It is literally IMPOSSIBLE!"
Venus spun on her heel and marched out of the room, not even noticing the
Prince and Princess. Soon Kunzite followed, feeling that this might work.
Only Mars and Jaedite were left and they soon came out deciding not to
fight after all.

Queen Serenity and Queen Alexis stood up from their seats in the throne
room, quite satisfied with the decision they had come to.

Dinner was finally ready and everyone was on time for once. Mars and
Jaedite weren't fighting, they still weren't speaking, but at least they
were not at each other's throats. Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion
were there, they were both on edge about the decision that was made in
the throne room would be. Queen Alexis was quietly talking to King Brian
about what had happened in the throne room. The Elder senshi and the
Elder Generals were getting along quite well. Nephlyte and Jupiter(the
younger)were talking about something or other very quietly so that no one
could hear them. Zoicite and Mercury were descussing a book that both of
them had read. Kunzite was trying to strike up a conversation with Venus,
but she was still hopping mad at Mars and Jaedite so she just sat at the
table and glared at them. Queen Serenity was waiting for the right moment
to announce the 'decision she and Queen Alexis had come to in the throne
room. They had already located a nice young boy and girl willing to help
them in their plan. In a lull in the conversation Queen Serenity stood up
and cleared her throat. Everyone stopped talking and looked at her.
"As you all know, there was a court meeting today, in which Queen
Alexis and myself were in the throne room talking for many hours. We have
reached our decision. Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion will not have
to marry each other since they so obviously dislike one another. We will
announce this next week, Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion will be
free to marry whom ever they please, as long as they are royalty." Queen
Serenity smiled at Queen Alexis and sat down.
Elder venus immediately knew what the Queens were up to and soon the rest
of the Elder Senshi and Generals had figured it out. King Brian thought
the plan was excellent. Mars and Jaedite stared at the Queen in
disbelieve. Venus and Kunzite started to understand what was going on
while Endymion and Serenity just sat there with shocked expression on
their faces.
"We will expect you all to report to a court meeting tonight at
nine o'clock," Queen Serenity said. Everyone finished eating their dinner
in silence.
