THE CHICKENS WIELD MAGICAL HAMMERS OF CONFUSION +2 1/2 AGAINST THE HEATHEN SQUIRRELS!
But if you hit the chickens enough, they'll call up their friends and EAT YOU ALIVE.
 Curses.
short session in my campaign, I should be able to make an appearance.
* ElementalKnight 's been playing Castlevania: , but LttP is next on the list.Harmony of Dissonance
 cool!
Yu may want to consider just playing in Mory's game, though, if it fits your time better.
 Harmony of Dissonance? GBA?
 *nod*
 AoS rocks.
Ack, the sentance inverted or something.
And I think CotM is better, if only because you have a vague idea sto where to go. I've had to pul lthe classic "Metroid: Wander the entire world to see where to use my new toy" schtick thrice now.
 Oh, yeah.
 Discussed something with CV.
 Do tell.
He says Survival isn't a specified skill, meaning you need only one survival skill.
 Oh.
Must've changed on me when I wasn't looking.
 Cool by me, then.
That means Ladis has about 120 points in redundant skills. Can he relocate to stuff like alchemy?
 Sure.
Ladis is at Level 6 anyhow...
So you've got a level up to do anyhow, I think.
 Yep.
Unless I missed you sheet somewhere (only checked my Returners PM box)
Uh, I may have done a bad thing.
 ?
* Typhoon has joined #terranotos

 Oh.
 Yes.
 Yes, you did.
 >.>
 Hey
* ElementalKnight 's joking. What's the thing?
 Yo.
The BLM i made for CMS has a sideorder to keep on the lookout for Ladis, apparently, before Ladis' father took off, he had something of value to his guild.
 *nod* Okay.
That's not necessarily bad in and of itself; just know the crossovers will be rather large, unwieldy, and rare.
He's under orders to bring Ladis back, if seen, for questioning where this unnamed, undescribed, undefined item is.
 Understood.
Of course, Ladis has no clue of any artifacts.
BTW, what's the skill max in Terranotos?
 100, I guess.
After that it's just kinda silly.
 Skill max is 100.
 Always.
 no, I meant now.
Like, could I max out survival?
 to 100%?
 Oh, now?
 At level 6 it'd be 60%.
 right.
 brb
 actually, gtg

 Back from food?
 Yep.
I may pop in and out depending on the vagarities of the family, though.
Any idea what you plan to do in tonight's session?
 Hmm.
 Geography quiz!
 *blink*
Where is the head of Altercations, Inc?
 Ooooookay.
 (read: Sheeeeeee-yit.)
City, relative location to us, etc, etc
Just the basics, this is stuff I'd assume Estrain would know
 *nod*
Hm. For the extra symbolism, I'll put it in Underhole.
So basically "straight north at the otehr side of the country".
Which is good for you. It's the land of the SOUTH wind, after all. >.>
 hehe
Heh. If we actually ever did a running narrative, I'd sure as hell retcon a scene with that in while Alan was still there
 *nod*
 That would have been interesting
Yeah... I suppose they have a big offce somewhere in the Eastern Tip too, but who doesn't?
Anyhow, it's seven-thirty now. Any word from Gale?
 nope
 Hm.
You all wanna go on with him an' Serg, or wait, or what?
 Mmm. Wait until 8, maybe...?
That seems fair enough, but I won't object if you two want to start
let's wait cuz I'm in a fight in Eldemar
Okeydoke; waiting until 8. Give 'em hell.
 I plan on it :D
 Attagirl.
* Serigo has joined #terranotos
 Well, it's eight o'clock.
Mory, is your battle almost done?
 I can't really tell as a observer. <.<
 Mine's almost.
 Cool.
 should be
We'll Goblin Punch and Pulse Ammo them to death :D
 Yay!
Because being cheap is okay when the PCs are doing it.
 hehe
 ok, ready

 Hi mom!
* Typhoon is now known as Estrain
 Right, there we go.
* ElementalKnight is now known as EK|GM
 Serg, you comin'?
 * The Mailmoogle walks up to the Save Point, puts his GBA away (>.>) and puts in the Memory Card.
 soon, soon. gimme 10.
 Okay...
 * The Mailmoogle taps his feet, leans against the save machine, and contemplates picking up smoking.
 (Oy.)
* Serigo is now known as Ladis
I'm in, but my attention is slightly divided.
 * The Mailmoogle finally loads Slot 2, and the world reloads around the save machine - the remains of the Shiva/Kul+Desil fight still wet on the pavement.
* Estrain and Kul are, pending any disagreement, heading to the bar.
 * Last the GM remembers, everyone was somewhere in Pallestra Magus, having gone and upgraded their equipment while Raza talked to the Dean. They found her, and much hilarity ensued.
 Ah.
(Part of a bet. Whoever pisses Raza off first gets drinks bought for them. We did it at the same time, so we buy each other drinks!)
 (Win-win.)
 Oh yeah...
 ...forgot that bit.
 Anyhow.
* Raza and Jack, whether he wants to or not, are going to try to find out who's been leaving dangerous items lying around.
 * Headmaster Odom is still suprised that Shiva got her arse kicked so... easily.
 (sent sheet)
 (yay!)
 (Still need Gale's...)
 (Did I send you mine?)
(Yeah. I have Raza's and Desil's, and I did Jack and Mitzu. Now I hve Ladis, so I just need Kul.)
((BTW, you need to update Jack's advantages and Disadvantages...or not considering he's an NPC))
(gr, point. I just did basic stats/skills/numbers)
 * Palestra Magus' campus is, well, *big*. There isn't anywhere near the greenery of Feratus, with most of the paths being wide and paved. The buildings are old, gothic in architecture; the students a little quieter than their eastern counterparts.
 * The local pubs and bar, on the other hand, are the ultimate mixing pot. Everyone - from Delvers to wizards, professional fighters and lawyers, salesmen and sailors, and a bunch of other odd pairings intermingle with little apprehension. If something goes wrong, they can blame alcohol!
* Raza turns to Headmaster Odom. "Is there anything important happening at the school? Some kind of anniversary or something that'd people want to ruin?"
 * For gaming purposes, I'm assuming Mitzu is off being mysterious or whatnot. Less to keep track of tht way.
No, not that I can think of - the Sir Guile Social isn't for a few months yet, graduation was a while ago...
* Estrain walks into a bar, named "The Chocobo Wing". ~Not bad for the atmosphere; mostly the sort of clients that keep quiet. Knowing Kul, he's weird enough to be a happy drunk, so I'd rather keep him away from the crazier places...~
...I *guess* it could be for the Social, but it's a bit early to spread these items around, then.
~And he's probably a lightweight, too. Have I ever actually seen him drink...? The bigger they are, the heavier they fall, I guess.~
 ~Mind, I can't talk.~
((Okay, I can talk more now. Where be I?)
(Up to you, really. You've been off-screen, really. >.>)
(Notos is a big city; you can find something to do.)
* Ladis has been reading. Books are rare in the wilderness.
"Can you show me to the place where the items first appeared? As a matter of fact, do you still have it?"
"Order the drinks, Kul. I'll find us a good place." ~Might as well listen to the conversation. Maybe I can find old connections to a few informants.~
 (Mind if I roll Streetwise?)
Most of them are one-use items, of course, but their, uh, remains, and the few that aren't one-shot, are locked up underground.
 (Go for it.)
 !roll 1d100
 Estrain - 1d100: 17 ( Total: 17 )
  Underground? Y'mean you buried 'em?
No, underground. As in, we dug a very large hole and thn put a very large safe in that very large hole.
  Oh.
She doesn't look at Jack. "How easy would it be to dig up said hole?"
(I guess you find an old face or tree. Any ideas who you want to pop up?)
* Estrain finds a table and looks around, thinking. "Hmm."
(I can probably think up a thing or two.)
The vault's face is still unburied, it's in the basement of the Armory - where we keep the items that don't explode in one's face.
"Then I guess we should get going, huh?"
 ((Can I shop for gear?))
('course. Avail 80, and don't forget your big ol' 5,000 Agt check.)
* Estrain suddenly blinks. ~Hey, that's Ledah. He still owes me a few favors, and he's a good source in the business world.~
"Hey, old friend. It's been a while."
 * Odom takes the semi-intrepid duo to the Armory - basically, a smaller building where the magically-embued objects are kept - and down a set of back stairs to the basement. He waves a hand at the door at the bottom, and it opens - and in the floor is a very large metal plate.
 * Ledah blinks, and turns around. His eyes widen. "Desil? I'll be damned, you're still alive?"
"I haven't gotten much better about my job assignments, no," he says, dryly. "I just fought off the Ice Queen Shiva about five minutes ago. Admittedly, I ASKED for it, and it was an easy fight, but..."
 * Odom kneels, and starts speaking under his breath. The metal plate creaks, and lifts up on one end, eventually laying against the wall. Below, a few tables and boxes lay in a solid metal room.
"Reminiscing's nice, but I've got a few questions. Still keeping your ear to the ground?"
...You went to a lot of trouble to bury something...
Of course. When the big guys in suits stand on your head, there isn't much else to do!
"The stuff can't be *that* bad, can it?"
...Wait, Ice Queen Shiva? However dangerous your life may be it's a lot luckier in the ladies' department than mine...
Not entirely, but I'm afraid we only have two groups: 'Bad' and 'Not Bad'.
I've been meanign to ring the organizational issues up, but something always gets in the way.
"Depends on your intrepretation. I seem to attract the kind who aren't interested in me, but ARE interested in making my life very interesting. Sometimes with fire."
 * Ledah laughs. "Still a step up, though."
"Yeah, it just may help," Raza says absently. "So which is the 'Bad' box?"
"My lady troubles aside... heard anything about one Altercations, Inc., lately? You're better for informants in that realm than I, and my last contract dealt pretty heavily with them. I'm pretty sure they might hold a grudge or two, so I'm keeping my eye on them for now..."
Oh, these are *all* 'Bad'. But...
 * Odom carefully hops down into the metal box - there're stairs on the other side, but oh well.
...Everythign that's popped up recently are in these two boxes.
* Raza decides to take the stairs and steps up to the table. She gently opens the box closest to Odom and farthest from her.
 * Odom opens one easily enough - they aren't really sealed - and it shows a boxful of used one-shot items. "The other one has a few of the non-one-use items. Not many of those, I'm glad to say."
 !roll 3d100
 EK|GM - 3d100: 47, 58, 31 ( Total: 136 )
"Hmm, hand me one of the non-one-use items please. want to try something."
 * Ledah thinks for a moment, and sips a martini he's been holding. "Yeah, they've been uppity lately. Quiet about it, though - no official press releases, so it's all rumors.
 * Odom looks abotu to ask if Raza's sure, but decides against it. Instead, he picks up a two-foot-long, pure-red rod and hands it to her.
"Best type, if you've got sense. Don't acknowledge it, and you can call 'em rogues later."
"Mind, them having sense is up to debate..."
 * Jack takes a seat, and looks at the rod. "Magic wands? Cool; haven't seen those very often..."
(New Ladis at ya, with new gear, at 17 agt, but now he's not gonna croak.)
* Raza holds it in her hand and focuses on its magic, literally trying to get a taste, feel, smell and sight of it's magical aura. With that, she should be able to track down the creator.
Yeah, it is. The rumors are all over the place - all kinds of mechanical suits and whatnot, for one; they're looking into new uses for spesix; and, uh, they're getting ambitious in the acquisition of new properties and patents.
* Ladis walks around town, wondering where his friends went after they got canned.
 ((Perception I'm guessing?))
(Sure. Give a few rolls, if you will.)
 !roll 5d100
 Raza - 5d100: 45, 40, 47, 55, 98 ( Total: 285 )
"And all you've been getting are rumors?"
 * The wand glows a soft red as Raza examines it; the wand gives off the impressio of a mage, face unseen, working over it on a pristene mountainside.
 * The wand then quickly heats up, burning raza's hand.
(The impressio? I'm not sure whether to be impressed with your new words or correct you on your spelling? :P)
 "Ow!"
* Raza drops the wand.
(Oh, you hush. For all you know the Impressario is behind it all!)
From Altercation itself, yeah. A few subsidaries are more forthcoming, but they only know bits and pieces.
* Ladis heads to whereever Raza is.
 Raza, yo uokay?
(*tpyos. I hate this keyboard, now and forever.)
"Better than I expected, anyway. Tells me absolutely nothing, but eh." He smiles. "A tip for the help, anyway." Estrain flips him a 100 Agt coin, and then finds Kul.
* Raza waves her hands to cool them off but nods. "Yeah...I'm fine. I've got a bit of an impression of the creator. Couldn't see his face though."
(any chance I can get to where Raza and Estrain are, or do guards/dragons/dogs that shoot bees block me?
 * Ledah catches it in midair. "Sorry, but there's not much else. Give 'em time, though - big secrets like this always get loose."
(There are ninja blocking the entrance to the bar. They do not allow their sovereign leader to be interupted while he drinks.)
(Come on, seriously. What's stopping you?)
* Ladis catches up to Estrain.
 "Hey, there."
(Estrain's at a bar; Raza's in the basement of where Palestra Magus keeps their sharp, pointy, and dangerous things. That might have a bit of entry troubles.
 (Estrain, then)
* Estrain gives Ledah a nod, and walks to a table with Kul. "Sorry, had to pause to talk with an old friend."
* Ladis waves to Estrain.
* Estrain notices Ladis. "Hey. Don't mind us, we're busy worshipping the Beer God."
 (heh)
"Any renown mages that live in the mountains that you can think of?"
"How much is it for a drink? I kinda blew everything on gear and potions."
And that's *why* these items are bad. But they do worse when you channel actual magic through them - we've lost a few trees from that one Rod.
"He is a just and kind god, even if he has the tendacy to give you nasty headaches after a particularly good sermon..."
"I perfer to worship the gods of nonalcoholic drinks."
Plenty! Not like I have post addresses for them, though.
"Not much - you can probably get a really good drink for a 25. A 10'll do if you just want something that'll get you drunk."
"I just want something that tastes good and quenches thirst. I don't need to get drunk."
"I've... 17 gil to my name. Vow of a Geomancer, "Never hoard wealth", I guess.
How come so many mages go into the mountains, then? What's, uh... wrong ith this place?
"But, on the plus side, I got a new orb that does some real damage.
 * Jack, obviously, doesn't really *like* this Palestra, but he's not about to say *that*.
"Congratulations. Have you moved into the elusive realm of sharp weaponry yet?"
A lot of our students think highly of themselves. They tend to not think so highly of most anyone else... Those students like to go somewhere where they won't be bothered. We lose more good Mages that way...
"I prefer the weapons that allow me to hit from a distance and focus my latent magic."
 "Wuss."
 "Oh, really?"
 "Yes."
 "Let's see your weapons, then."
*As Desil and Ladis walk, a billboard comes into view, placed atop a few large, square buildings - apartments, probably.
* Ladis glances at it.
 (what are your boomerangs, Desil?)
* Raza nods. "It's true. A couple of my classmates just vanished into seclusion." She picks the (I'm assuming) now cool wand up off the floor. "I'm going to try again. Now that I've made some headway, it should be easier."
Survival. Sucess. In the Depths, they're measured only by the sharpness of your blade. Lial Inc. - Serving your bladed needs for hundreds of years

 "...hmmm."
 (Aye, it's cooled off now.)
 "I win."

 (3 * STR each)
 (brb, h2o.)
 (Blind Touch.)
* Raza again focuses on the wands magic, keeping the image she received fresh in her mind.
 (Str?)

* Ladis invites Estrain to do some target practice on a tree or rock.
 "Waste of the edge."
* Ladis shrugs.
"I'm not wasting my time sharpening them and then hitting a damn tree."
 "Fine, then watch this."
* Ladis aims for a rock that's not near anyone or anything valuble and blasts it.

 (On a rock.)
 (Ooh, crit and botch.)
(Yeah. It's still city property. :P)
 (Vandalism? Outside of city limits?)
 (It's a big city.)
* Ladis sighs.
((Think NYC. I know I do))
"Fine, let's go find a... archery range, or something."
* Ladis calls off the blast.
(but with more fireballs and slightly less gang violence. Slightly.)
"We can try them out there."
 ((Hehe))
* Estrain gave him another look. "I'm not wasting my time so you can attempt to be macho."
* Ladis shrugs. "Suit yourself. Where's Raza?"
 "Check the Pallestra."
"So, yes, the orb does look wimpy."
 * The mage on a pristine mountainside returns to Raza's second sight; he works at the rod - at this point, only another stick; he magically straightens it, rounds off its edges, and with his well-manicured finger etches things into the rod - unreadable, runes or pictograms or scribbles. The row of symbols dissapears, and he inscribes more, reversing direction. And again.
"But these things can be nasty in the right hands."
"So can a stick. Your point?"
"These are good for when an enemies' armor is too thick for physical damage."
 * Finally, he lets to rod float up, out of his hands, and channels a small bit of fire magic through it. The magic goes out one end - and then bounces back, somehow, magnified at the end one would normally hold.
 "So is Fire. Your point?"
 * As the flame bursts from the Rod's handle, the rod itself spontaneously combusts.
 * Not the Rod in the vision. The actual Rod, in Raza's hands.
 "Ah!"
"The damage caused by these is usually of a neutral element. Meaning it can't be absorbed or nulled by creatures with elemental affinities."
 "Ever heard of Time Magic?"
* Raza throws the wand down and proceeds to try to stomp the fire out!
"...no, actually... I haven't. I've heard of Black, White, Red, and Blue, and there's Raza's brand of summoning, but Time? Never."
 * The rod quickly burns itself up; leaving nothing more than embers and smoke on the floor. It has, unfortunantly, done its damage - soot is all over Raza's footwear.
...They, uh, aren't supposed to do that, are they?
  Most certainly not!
"So, what is this "Time Magic" you speak of?"
"It's like the illegitimate love child of black magic and white magic. Half of it helps people. The other half blows things up. And it actually has different spells, unlike Red Magic... Although some Red Magic IS Time Magic."
* Raza 's face is pure rage. "This mage is going to pay! Not only were these shoes a lot more expensive than I'm sure either of you could possibly fathom, but the mage freakin' booby-trapped his handiwork. Pristine mountain my foot!"
 "...Interesting."
  Pristine mountain?
"If it speeds people up, slows them down, or hits them with giant meteorites, it's probably Time Magic."
"...That sounds like a boon in many situations."
If he spent so much time on it, an' booby-trapped it, I don't think he wants to mess around.
 "It's useful, yes."
"That's about the only way I could describe it. Ooh, when I get my hands on him! Screw my arrows, I'll throttle him with my fist! It's time for a manicure anyhow..."
"I've worked with a couple of Time Mages. A lot of Lial stuff is magical in some way."
  ...Hasn't changed a bit.
"Hmmm... seems I've more to learn about Magic than I thought."
* Raza kicks at the scorch in the ground angrily muttering curses in the Sylvaan tongue.
"My parents... they were mages of black and white magic. But since I leaned toward Geomancy, they couldn't teach me a whole lot."
* Estrain shrugs. "Dad was a gambler of some stripe, though I never found just how good he was at it. I'm thinking I didn't inherit a lot of it, though."
After a moment she takes a deep breath, and regains her composure. "Now, where were we?" She tosses a few strands of her golden hair back over her shoulder.
"Well, learning any art, physical, mental, or magical, takes time."
"Speaking of which, shall we go make sure Raza hasn't beat anyone to death yet?"
Did you see who it was, by any chance?
 "Why thank you, Captain Obvious."
 "You're welcome, Admiral Wiseass."
* Ladis smiles in jest.
 (In The Navy!)
 ((Dunno, did I?))
(Not by my count. It's just you, Jack, and Headmaster Odom.)
"Let us gather our fleet and conquer the world."
(Though you kicked that Rod's ass pretty good.)
"We might be able to get enough stupid nicknames to fill a boat or two."
 "Joy."
* Raza thinks for a moment. "He was male, had a really great manicure and is obviously either a practitioner of Black or Red magic."
"What, you've never plotted an elaborate scheme which would, eventually, end in you being the sole ruler of the world?"
 "You've never truly lived."
Lots of Black an' Red Mages runnign around. Heck, we hit one and we weren't even tryin'.
But who'd get a manicure in the mountains? I don't think there are many salons in the Zephyr.
"My schemes have revolved around finding my parents, hunting down rapists and tyrants and causing their "accidental" deaths, but never world domination."
"I see you had a deprived childhood."
"It's possible it's a mountain resort or summer cabin."
"...having your village disappear kinda sets everything off kilter."

"Gee, you know how to kill a conversation."
 * There *are* such spas in the Zephyr, but none of them are really big or anything, and none really pop to mind.
"Okay, then, next topic. Where do we go now?"
 "The Hole, possibly."
"I can't think of any spas in the Zephyr. Still, do you remember any students, or classmates that kind of fit the bill?"
"The lady's the boss. You're asking the wrong guy."
Lots of students go into the moutains, as I said, and not all of them write back. But I'll look, see if any Black or Red mages with a reason to do this are there... But we've already looked once or twice.
"Hmm. Then we should go annoy her for answers."
 "You do that."
"Try to find students who come from money...or tried to pretend they did."
* Ladis heads to the Pallestra.
 * Odom says, just a tiny bit sarcastically, "That'll narrow it down, yes."
* Raza rolls her eyes. In her mind, there were only a handful of students with any real kind of wealth, she amongst them.
"We'll be back tommorow morning. I'll bring reinforcements."
* Ladis looks around for the Raza-lady who yells.
  Reinforcements?
* Estrain continues his walk.
 "The others."
  Oh...
 "Raza? Raza?"
"I'll see you tommorow morning," she says to Odom before grabbing Jack's hand and dragging him out of the basement.
"(To himself, silently.) Where are you, you loudmouthed..."
 * Jack is dragged (U), but he's getting used to it. ~Maybe I should just put some wheels on my shoes...~
Finally, she gets to the entracnce of the Pallestra in time to hear Ladis calling for the fifth time. "Where'd you come from?"
"Eh, had shopping to do, wandered around, tried to find you."
 * Jack waves silently.
"So, what's our next move... and why are your shoes covered in soot?"
 ((Is Estrain on his way?))
"I wish you guys would've waited for me to do your shopping. I could've scored you some discounts."
 (Nope, he isn't.)
"Not fair to the merchants. I believe in sharing the wealth. Besides, they got me some good stuff."
 "New weapon, armor, potions..."
* Raza has quit IRC (Ping timeout)
 uh oh.
 * Jack is suddenly let go, and tumbles to the ground. "Stupid Ping..."

 (Absolutely nothing)
 "oh, no you don't."
* Ladis uses his spoooooky powers to bring Raza back to existance.
 (bak, with ice cream!)
 ((hehe))
(Uh, your spell and spooookiness seem to have missed their target. But oh well!)
"Let's get Estrain. I'm going to need his help too."
 (where is he, btw?)
 (Walking.)
 (Aimlessly, mostly.)
"He was walking, when I last saw him. C'mon, I think I know where he is."

 * Ladis falls victim to the Gambler Mind Trick.
 "Hi. Looking for me?"
* Estrain comes out of a nearby shadow behind them.
 "Yes."
* Raza jumps. "Don't do that!"
"You know, I've been following you guys for about three blocks now."
"You need to work on your perception skills."
"I didn't think you'd actively be avoiding and stalking us.
 (and I have awareness 60%)
 * Jack just doesn't say anything. >.>
"I was preoccupied. There's trouble at the Pallestra. Trouble that can get students killed."
"My, my. 'Stalking'. Such strong language..."
* Estrain nods. "Alright. Let's go, then."
"Kul's waiting over there. He decided to let me do my ninja thing alone."
"Let's go save the world, friends, and hopefully irritate the living hell out of anyone unfortunate enough to cross our path!"
 (Whoa. Klingon geomancer?)
 "Saving the world is overrated."
"We don't need to be back at the Pallestra until tommorow morning. The headmaster is running a student check, but I need you to find out if anyone knows about a mage with particularly well-kept hands and a penchant for creating dangerous magical items, and often booby-trapping them. This guys works up in the Zephyr mountains."
"Then lets just kill people who attack us and rob their bodies before they cool."
  ...I don't think that'll work.
 "I'll go get him, then."
* Estrain walks back into the shadows.
(I suppose Gale isn't showing up tonight. Poo on him.)
"Huh. So what do we do now?"
"Do you know how to track people? You *are* a geomancer."
"Er, no. I spent less time learning tracking techniques and more on alchemy and medicine."
"Oh, and poaching things that tried to eat me."
"Can you survive in the mountains?"
 "Yep."
"We may need to put those skills to the test."
"Fine by me. So, where to?"
"I'm not sure yet. I need Estrain to get me a location or at least a name. Then you'll take us there."
 "Okay."
(Aaaaaand if Estrain wants to look for a name, i'm cool with that; otherwise, I'm also cool to stop whenever.)
 (awwwwwwww.)
((Well Raza was gonna do some Inquiring of her own, but in the interests of time I could just make a couple of rolls and we can end it there?))
 ok.
(I'll do the same with Streetwise.)
 (Cya, dinner.)

* Estrain looks for a location and/or a name after checking with Raza.
 * Desil finds out about a few good places where this guy could be hanging out - assuming there's a spa nearby. Three small, high-quality beutification places, all way up in the Zephyr.
 * Mostly south of Skylark's Watch; one right outside Lake Alcedonia; one outside of Skylark's Watch itself, and one in between.
~Why in the hell would a powerful fire magician hide in a beautification place with spa...?~
 ~Whatever.~
 (bwaha.)
 (The plot, it thickens!)
((hehe. before we end, I did wanna look into the houses before I upgraded my equipment))
 (Sure, why not?)
((but if Ty needs to go, that could just be a behind the scenes thing))
 (Eh, I'm fine)
 ((k))
With a location in place, Raza sets off to finish one last bit of business. She needed to see someone about real estate!
 * Maibatsu Properties hs a nice, small downtown office. It's an old house, apropos enough, ut there's always someone at the major dockfront properties too, waiting for a godo sale.
 *good
 (tpyos, blargh!)
* Raza heads over to the downtown office.
 * A young, black-haired, handsome man sits at a desk in the front office, which was once a family room of some sort. He looks up. "Can I help you, ma'am?"
 (gyah, BRB.)
 ((lol, ok))
(back; had to shut off the sprinkler)
 ((wb))
* Raza smiles sweetly at the man. "Yes, I read your ad about the dockfront properties and wanted to see what you had to offer."
Ah! of course. Are you looking for anything in particular, then?
 * The Realtor begins to grab a few things off his desk.
"Not really. I'd just like to see what you're offering."
Okay, then. Do you have a price range in mind?
"Not really," she speaks as if she really has no idea what she's getting into.
 * The Realtor nods. "Okay, then. We've got plenty of properties up for grabs, then." He picks up a few more sheets of paper, and tucks them under his arm.
Small houses, warehouses, docks, boathouses, businesses and open lots ripe for development.
Any of those sound good to you?
"The businesses and small houses sound appealing."
 * The realtor nods, and shuffles a few papers. "I've got a few you might like... Like this, a one-bedroom, one-bath house. It's cozy, and the price is pretty low - 5,000 Argentum."
"I don't know, that seems kind of pricy."
 * The house's picture is of a one-story model, and it truly looks cozy - also, a tiny bit cramped. It's whole, however, and it seems otherwise okay.
We can also work in installments. A few hundred here, a few hundred there, you'll have it paid off in no time.
"I'm sure you can give me something better for 5000 Argentum."
We have a few things in that range, yes, and negotiations are always welcome.
(I find it funny you can buy weapons that cost more than houses...)
 (Seriously, WTF?)
 * The Realtor shuffles a few more papers, and brings out another house. "This one's nice, but it's a little above 5,000, I'm afraid. Two bedrooms, one-and-a-half bathrooms, and a cellar. The old owner used it to store wine."
 (Uh, look at reality, dude.)
(Tiny house compared to awesome weapon.)
(Be that a well-crafted, magically-enhansed sword or a bazooka, weapons tend to cost more.)
(besides, tehre aren't any rules whatsoever on houses, so I'm just makign things up as I go.)
 ((True that))
(Besides, you can always pool your money and buy a business. Make some money with that, and move on up.)
(I've been playing GTA: SA lately. Sue me.)
"Uh, wait a minute... How do you get one and a half bathrooms?"
Oh, it's a bathroom without the bath. A sink, a, uh, commode, a mirror and a cabinet.
((I'm assuming Estrain's with Raza, in which case, he can feel free to interject))
(*wodners if Jack should be jealous, but meh.)
"And how much does that one cost?"
((Lol, Raza let Jack help make a business decision? Yeah right?))
 ((-?))
* Estrain is standing by Raza's side, listening quietly.
7,500. You're getting almost twice the space, too, with the cellar.
"And exactly where is this located?"
 * The Realtor flips the paper over, and on the back is a little mapof the southern, dock area of Notos. It's on the bay's northwest edge, a short ways from the docks. "Right there. It's convienient if you travel by boat often."
 "How big is the cellar?"
((Do you consider a basement a cellar?))
 (Not entirely.)
The cellar's about as big as this room, maybe ten-by-ten feet. We haven't taken a tape measue to this house yet.
* Raza frowns a bit. "And you're trying to sell it to me?"
"Is the cellar at least finished?"
Oh, yes. Like I said, it used to be a wine cellar.
 "How old is the place?"
According to the previous owner, it's fifty years, give or take. That makes the entire house an antique.
* Raza looks at Estrain. "What do you think," she asks softly. "We could rent it out and make tons of money. As long as we're willing to put up with the hassles of being landlords."
"Mmm. I think we should settle business first, so we can concentrate on one thing or another."
"Of course, if you're determined, I won't stop you."
* Ladis has quit IRC (Ping timeout)
(The first realty-related FFRPG death EVER!)
"But I think we should have a back-up plan before investing so much, you know?"
 * Realtor quiety shuffles his papers while the two discuss.
 "Such as?"
 "An official job?"
* Ladis has joined #terranotos
 (Heh.)
"Well, this was supposed to suppliment us until we did get an official job."
"Honestly, I'm willing to bet mercenary jobs would be more reliable."
 "Indeed."
If you like, you can hang onto this sheet and make a decision at your leisure.
* Raza takes the sheet absently. "I've never really done mercenary work before."
 * The Realtor reshuffles his papers, and pulls out a few. "We also have business locations for sale. Not as cheap as some of our houses, but businesses tend to return a greater profit."
"Well, it's good for money making in tough times.
"We'll take a look at those too."
She turned to the others. "See, that's something I know."
 "Hmm."
 * The Realtor nods. "This one's a nice single-store building, with a showroom and backroom. The previous owner had to give up his chocobo-accessories repair business for personal reasons. It's only 9,000 Agt, too."
Of course, finding someone who wants you to host their business may seem a bit daunting, but it can be done. Or you can open up your own business and cut out the middleman!
* Raza looks at the others, then back at the realtor. "We'll definately look these things over and get back to you."
 ((Getting late))
* Ladis tries to think if there's any beasts in the area that can be hunted for a profit. Poachable hides, fangs, humors, anything.

 (Lore: Beasts 42)
 * There's always something out there that needs to be killed, skinned, and worn.
"You know, if we need to make some Agt..."
"I think a hunting trip might be in order."
 "In between Estrain
Raza, and myself, we could probably find something sellable."
"We will be hitting the mountains tommorow, so why not?"
 "You all ready to go?"
 (Okay, let's stop here.)
 (tired?)
 ((Yeah.))
 (K.)
* Ladis has left #terranotos
(Eh, I just think we can't do much more without getting into another session's worth)
(okay. It *is* 11-friggin'-30. >.> And point.)
* Estrain is now known as Typhoon
(BTW, next week's session will be the last one before I fly out to AZ - it'll also be the closest to our 1-year-anniversary.)
* EK|GM is now known as ElementalKnight
 (*nod* Wow, only one year?)
 Yeah.
* Raza is now known as Moryssa
 it seems longer
In-gae, it's been about two weeks.
 *game
not like it was a bad thing
 Heh.
 _-_'
Yeah, somehow, it just seems like our characters know each other
That sort of "holy crap, I haven't been with these people for forever?"
* ElementalKnight puts on his George Lucas hat and grabs his Wand of Preqels +3.
But yeah, it is incredibly awesome.
I should do that 'design your characters as a team' thing more often.
 It's worked out beautifully.
Mmm. We were actually pretty loosely connected, except for our jobs
We just clashed enough to make exactly who our characters were very, very clear
Gyah, point. My attempts to compliment my genius are thwarted yet again!
 Heh
  WHAT genius? Hahaha!
There was a good change of pace, really.
This is sort of laid-back, so our characters can busy themselves with insults and pointed jabs. :P
 Indeed.
If I had to turn a campaign into a comic strip or a serial TV show, it'd be this one.
You get the feeling that, in the wide scheme of things, the world at large doesn't really give a damn. And somehow, that's relaxing.
Sure, might change their equipment brand, but who do they care?
The world at large really doesn't. TN is just one tiny country amidst many others which haven't been thought up i nthe slightest.
it's the Switzerland of its world.
It's cool, sure, and kinda important, but no one stresses over it.
Especially because of that shiny maelstrom that apparently surrounds it.
 Switzerland of Terranotos?
 hehe
I've never been to Switzerland, so who knows.
Nor have I, but I've been to germany and Austria.
 They're pretty awesome.
 Also, pretty
*nod* I know some German, but I have no idea if I'm ever going to go to Germany
 It'd be nice to, though
It's all-around awesome, yeah. Dunno if I'd want to live there, but it's cool.
I've been to Germany and Austria too. beautiful places
They tend to hate you if you reference "The Sound of Music".
Since they didn't see it until the 1980s with cable TV.
 lol
