Aloha!
Howdy and whatnot.
^_^
Hey
Any word from Gale?
(BRB, h2o_
*)
back.
wb and no
He'll probably be his usual late self
Joyous.
Go figure.
* Beyard has joined #terranotos
* Beyard is now known as Beyard[AO]
...Before I forget, there's something I should bring up: Serg wanted me to ask if we could move the campaign to a different night, and given Gale's usual latness, it might be a good idea. Any thoughts?
what night?
I'unno yet.
I *like* Sunday nights, but that's me. Since half the group can't make it mor eoften than not, it doesn't seem to be working.
Is there any night you'd prefer to this one? Any night you'd be okay with?
* ElementalKnight 's just assessing options. You know him and optons, always assessing.
I really dunno. I have to see my new schedule back at school first
*nod*
I SHOULD be fine with most nights
*also nod* I gotta check my school schedule, too. But I've got 18 credit hours coming up, so I may not be a happy camper come, uh, ever.
But yeah...
* Liana has joined #terranotos
* Moryssa has quit IRC (Ping timeout)
* Liana is now known as Moryssa
And I've just gotten a quiet nudge, so - are you both still up to game tonight, or should we just delay it and try next week, or should we all just dance, dance, dance?
I'm up for the game
gotta get my Terranotos fix
* ElementalKnight is Complimented (6)
Ty?
..?
Ah, sorry
Heh.
I'm fine with proceding, but it'd be a bit weird without half the people
We do it all the time
* Moryssa sighs
Well, we can set up for the fight I have planned. Maybe hopefully possible probabl not goddammit there'll be more folks for the beatdown.
*possibly probably
Yeah, unfortunately
I'm fine with going.
On, as in playing, that is. :P
* ElementalKnight would really prefer to not play Find More Characters with TN. Not at the moment, thanks.
* ElementalKnight is now known as EK|GM
* Moryssa is now known as Raza
* Typhoon is now known as Estrain
Yeah, I'm fine with the cast as is
Adding Serigo felt sorta strange. Still not really used to it
* Mailmoogle walks up to th eSave Point, wit hthe Memory Card in one hand and an I-DEMON Prima's Player Guide in the other. It's got a few pages heavily dog-eared. He's grumbling something about PlayOnline as he inserts the meomry card int othe Save point and loads up Slot 2.
(Same here, actually... he's yet to Click with a capital C. But then, so's Jack.)
((It'd help if he were here more often, though))
* Doman has joined #terranotos
((Hola))
((Hiya. Mind if I watch?))
(Yeah. ALso, howdy. Not too much tonight, but grab your popcorn anyhow.)
* The group reloads at the edge of a large, but quiet, village. Most of the houses are only one story tall, built solidly and with plenty of places to let your Chocobo or horse rest for the night.
* A wooden sign by the road reads:
WELCOME
To Beautiful
LAKE ALCEDONIA
Where good heroes go when the fights are fought
"The thought of retiring is strange..."
"I don't think anyone in my family's actually retired."
The "Living to retire" part of the "settling down" part?
* Kul drools, his eyes wide in his ever-so-familiar Zombified state. Again. (gr!)
"Both," Estrain says to Mitzu, smiling a bit. "Of course, I may just follow my dad - adventure some, grow old, man a tavern somewhere."
"It'd be peaceful enough, I guess."
"Well, you can have peace. Me, I'll be making money, thank you."
"I don't know whether to laugh or make a sarcastic comment."
* The town does, in fact, seem to have quite a number of taverns. Odder still, a lot of these taverns have kids running around outside or within them.
"...Apparently, my dad followed a trend."
"My faith system is shattered."
(*belief system)
Everyone needs a drink, though. Can't have just the one bar... though, uh, this many seems like a lot.
* Raza shrugs. "Elderly drunkards and their rugrat grandchildren don't seem like an appealing combination. Let's move on."
"Probably should."
"Any ideas for a first stop?"
(What's the weather and/or time of day?)
* Beyond the town, towards the north, the Zephyr Mountains begin stretching up towards the heavens. Fading into the distace, they don't seem very intent on stopping.
(Hm.)
(Sunny and warm with a light breeze - that is, standard TN - and... call it four PMish? *shrug*)
"We've got a while before we have to stop for the day, but we should probably get rooms ahead of time.
"If we keep up the trend, we'll probably find ourselves in some sort of trouble by the end of the day. Having a place to crash ahead of time would probably be a good idea..."
We *do* seem to have a problem with getting through a town sans destroying a building, don't we?
The heiress thinks for a moment. "You're probably right. Hopefully we won't trash the place. Daddy'll be pissed if he has to repay more damages."
I was wonderin' why they didn't get to upset about it...
* Estrain looks at Raza. "Think. Officially, we've been fired. If there's damages... Chances are, we'll have to pay them."
* Estrain looks a bit grim. "I feel more cheerful about that already..."
You don't look it...
Jack, sarcasm.
Oh.
* Raza doesn't bother to look at Jack.
"Right, so a place to stay then."
* As for Inns, there're suprisingly *few*. Like half the Inns that should be there are just plain ol' bars and taverns instead. One or two stand out, as they're some of the few two-story buildings around.
* ZeroTK has joined #terranotos
* Of those few Inns that exist, however, there's one nearby - a nice, brick plce, with plenty of Chocobo rails and a clean facade. The sign reads 'The Old Red Eye'.
(yo.)
* Estrain blinks at that, tilting his head a bit to the left. "Strange name, but it looks decent enough."
"Sounds good enough to me."
(YAY way old jokes!)
"Alright, I'll talk to the innkeeper."
"Feel free to look around, but don't stray too far. I should be able to find you easily enough, but there's no sense in taking chances."
* The Inn's a ncie place on the inide, too, with most of the lobby taken up by a meeting area - couches looking out a big window onto the street. A few old-timers are there, talking and idly handling sharp pointy objects.
* The Innkeeper at the front desk is a nice, young lass, who had been listening to the convversation on the other side of the lobby before everyone came in. "Oh. Um, can I help you?"
* Estrain does a bit of mental arithmetic. ~Three rooms? I can board with Ladis and Jack, and Kul and Mitzu will probably want their own room. Raza will be perfectly happy to have a room by herself, I guess.~
~Though, knowing her, I should keep an eye on Jack anyway...~
* The Innkeeper can hear the sound of wheels grinding.
"Do you have three rooms available?"
"We plan on staying at least the night, and we'll need dinner and breakfast."
* The Innkeeper quickly scans a bok off to her side. "um... Yes, we do. All have two beds, and come with breakfast brough to your room."
* The old men on the couches laugh uproariously as one of them stumbles over a table. "So THAT'S how you beat the guy!" "And all this time I thought it was SKILL!"
* Estrain nods. "Sounds good enough. What's the bill?"
(And this is the part i hate. Newbie, you need to think up Inn guidelines.)
(At least, price guidelines. >.>)

EK|GM - 3d100: 8, 7, 10 ( Total: 25 )
(...Wow, cheap.)
(...Wow.)
(Three critical successes. Obviously, this is the inn of CHAMPIONS)
We've, um, got a special deal going on, apparently. 25 Argentum for all three rooms. And nobody told me...
(Part of this complete HP recovery)
* Estrain blinks a bit at that, but hands her 25 Agt.
...though that explains why, um, those fellows have been here for the past three weeks...
~Damn. Either they have dirt-cheap expenses, or they get a LOT of customers...~
(This is the sort of thing that needs to be quoted, just for posterity)
* She takes it, checks it, and deposits it into a locked drawer. She fishes three keys out, all adjacent rooms, and hands them over. "They're all on this floor, just down the hall and around the corner."
(Or they have a lot of dirty customers.)
"Alright."
* Estrain goes to the rooms and checks them quickly, before leaving to check on Raza.
(Who apparently went into zombie-mode when Estrain left)
* The old fellows have managed to sit back down, and they look over at the party. "Hey, new guys!" "I don't think they're anyone's kids..." "Nephews an' nieces, maybe?" "Maybe, I'unno."
(Estrain went in alone, presumably)
* Raza was busy touring the area around the inn.
(Although it's kinda hard to tell, because, y'know, zombies)
(And half the party being *me*. Like I ever keep track of myself. Pfft.)
Feeling he's had more than adequate timing to secure their lodgings, Raza heads inside the inn to hear the old men talking.
* Jack and Mitzu find themselves in the Inn, too, for lack of anythign else.
"Apparently, we picked a very good time to stop by," he says, somewhat dryly. "25 gil for three rooms, as well as dinner and breakfast."
(gah, Agt, not gil!)
"What's wrong with the rooms?"
(Don'tcha hate that?)
"Nothing, apparently."
"I just checked them out myself, and they seem quite high-quality, actually."
...They just... gave them to you. For 25 Agt.
"I don't understand it either, but..."
(The Bard had occupied all three previously. :P)
"If they're selling rooms for this cheap, we might as well see if the place is up for rent."
"Later. We can do that when the sun's set. For now, let's take advantage of the remaining daylight."
(Which Bard? Naoka?)
* Raza rolls her eyes. "You're no fun."
(No, THE Bard.)
(Ah. Shakespeare the Axe Murderer, yes.)
(NO NO NO.)
(The Bard, as in Cary Elwes voiced)
(Coin and Cleavage?)
(The VIDEO GAME.)
"That was part of my contract. No fun allowed," Estrain says, with a grin.
"I just torture you two as recreation. That's different."
(Oh.)
(The Bard's Tale.)
(Dude, don't say The Bard to an English Major. What the hell else do yo uexpect?)
(That bard?)
(Yes.)
(Sorry, you're right.)
I want in on whoever writes your contracts.
(It would have been cool if Shakespeare were like that in reality, and still managed to write his songs.)
"Talk to Lial. He has a strange sense of humor.
(Er, what he did.)
(Plays.)
(Sonnets)
"Yeah, like hiring this lug, here," Raza says as she pokes Kul's unresponding body with an arrow.
* Jack pokes Kul in the nose. It's wet.
* Anyhow. >.> Back outside the Inn, the sun shines upon the peace that is Lake Alcedonia. Kids run, old farts reminisce, and the GM will b right back.
* Raza looks over at Estrain. "You know, we should probably have him examined. He spaces out a lot."
(back)
"Hey, you do it sometimes."
"Not half as often, though."
It does get annoying... doesn't seem to happen much at night, though.
You think it's contagious?
"I hope not."
Yeah, but ever since we met up it's been happenin' on and off.
* Raza shudders at the thought.
"I've never done it, thankfully. Although I did miss that fight with the parts of Titan, because I was off on... duties..."
You sure about that? Not just coverin' so we don't htink you've got it too?
"I don't do the daydreaming catatonic zombie thing, thanks."
"Right. Other things. It happened to him while we weren't looking."
All paranoia aside, it is happning a lot more often nowadays... especially to Kull and Ladis.
* Mitzu gently tugs on the leash, at the other ed of which is Ladis.
* Ladis simply wobbles on his little red wagon.
"While discussing the mysterious zombie disease is INTERESTING, can we talk about things that are a bit less... disturbing?"
"Like why we're actually here...?"
"You wanted to stop. I'm trying to get to the spas as quickly as possible."
(and future plot point is SET. Bwahah!)
(Hm.)
(Turning player absense as a plot device. Only in Terranotos, folks)
(Hehe))
(Come one, come all, as the Gm takes any random idea and runs with it to, past, and to the next, Bank.)
((Bwahaha. >_>))
(Oh, do feel free to comment from the peanut gallery. If anything, that' sthe best part. The hecklers.)
((Ooh, I was hesitant before.))
(Don't get excessive, of course, but we don't mind if you comment)
(Beyond that, my Gm instinct says "let loose the big monster now!" but that'd give the ight maybe an hour to play out, sans two PCs...)
(I've still got my m and my + around somewhere.
((Well, instincs are usually right and you never know where it'll lead with this group))
(You junkie you. But, well, what the hey...)
(*thi- er, loading...)
* Suddenly, from the direction of the Zephyr mountains and Deus Ex Machina, the sounds of dirt being sprayed is heard. Once, twice, again and again...
"What's that?"
* Everony stops in their tracks to listen to the sounds - a hero's instinct never dies.
"Sounds like... digging?"
* Estrain tilts his head sideways, closing one eye. "Hmm... Check it out?"
* The sound continues, and a cry goes up from its direction. Every old-timer in the village scrambles to their homes and, ten seconds later, reappear with sharp pointy objects.
* Said heavily armed retirees rush towards the sounds, while all the children go running the other way, shepherded by a few of the adults.
"No offense, but..." Estrain flips his boomerangs out in a smooth motion. "You might want to leave this to us."
(...That was before your last bit. Bit too late for it now, I guess)
"Well. I was a going to go take an afternoon nap, but..." Raza heads outside and knocks an arrow in her bow.
"Well, nothing for it, I guess. Let's go."
* Estrain flips his boomerangs, tightening his grip and feeling the light breeze around the narrow blades.
* rushign to the scene, the party finds the ex-heroes fighting giant plants. Oddly enough, these giant plants each have a cage of vines atop their, uh, 'head's, most of which contain at least one person.
They grow 'em big here...
"You're a farmboy, Jack. ny idea what they are?"
((+Any))

Most of the things me an' dad grew didn' eat people.
(I STILL hate my keyboard.)
"That's very comforting to know. So what do we do with these things?"
* As Jack expounds on how carrots aren't carnivorous, the sound of digging comes from beneath the party's feet, and - before anyone can run - bursts from the ground.

* Jack coughs and sputters, and is Poisoned (U).
* raza isn't poisoned, just slightly damaged. YAY basic pollen!
So, Mitzu, Jack, Desil, Raza.
((Jack must have serious allergies.))
(Oh yeah.)
* Mitzu draws her katana, silently rushign forward to cut Flower A from its stem.

Desil, Raza, the nthe plant itself.
* Estrain throws his boomerangs in an arc, attempting to sever the left flower from the cage. (Attack FlowerA)
