Reflection of the One

a Magickal Model of the Universe

In many of my Hermetic studies, one common thread seems to appear often, and that of us being reflections of the One. This also fits into my theory.

As reflections of the One (not just people, but animals, rocks, things whatever), we also have a chaotic and ordered aspect to ourselves. We generally label them body and mind or body and spirit, or whatnot. But either way, we have two aspects to our nature that further define who and what we are.

As I stated before, unless you are Divine, you do not have the same amount of each element within your ordered or chaotic self. Often many things are completely missing a certain element (sitting on the edge of the circle in my septagram discussion).

So, what does this all mean to me? Anyone/thing can become Divine. It's all in elemental balance. As many alchemists have pointed out, the road to perfection has a seven step staircase leading up, and a seven step staircase leading back down again. It is in the climbing of those stairs that we are learning the pure element and bringing balance first to our chaotic self, and then to our physical self. No, this is hardly an easy task, but it is what I have been shown and learned in my lifetime.

So, why become Divine? Everyone has their own reasons. Mine is that by understanding the balance within myself, I understand the balance of the universe and then can seek to affect more potently the universe around me to being a completely more balanced place for everyone.
