Standing Stones Geevor Tin Mine

This Ice work was for 'Ship of Fools' Arts Group in Cornwall at Geevor Tin mine. The aim of this event was to raise artistic awareness and gain publicity for local artists. By responding to the landscape and megalithic circles in the area I made twelve Ice Standing-Stones, which could be read as a clock face or as head stones. The shadows cast by ice as fleeting as an emotion, leave only a momentary overlay on the land. Posters were produced and used for the exhibition. 'Nothing but a moment of the past? much more perhaps; something which being common to the past and present is more essential than both' (Marcel Proust)
