Firstly, she is NOT gorgeous. Oh, she’s attractive, but hardly *GORGEOUS*… Being a tall, wispy blonde with blue eyes hardly makes you gorgeous. But what do I know? Everyone adores her because she's sooOOooo niiiiiiiiice and glamorous, yet *intelligent* and down to earth, with impeccable style and INCREDIBLE talent. Let me point some things out: She is a celebrity. That means quite a few things. Ie. insta-glamour (fame is charismafying). Style is of no significance—she gets designer clothes for free. If you're given clothes of the highest caliber, it should be theoretically impossible to go wrong if you've got even half a brain (and yet many celebrities do, I guess that's why they call Paltrow intelligent—she's got half a brain). On her intelligence, I once read this quote of hers, "I could pontificate for hours on..." and I'm sorry, I know I use big words too, but that's just, "Hey! Lookie at the big words I can PRONOUNCE. Aren't I such a nerd?" Oh, and she's an actress (admittedly, a good one). I'm 98.8% (to three sig figs) certain that she can be nice and down to earth if she really wanted to be. It's certainly not without her league, you know. Basic human respectability is something that *most* people have little trouble with; what's to stop an actress. There is one thing (!)... oh ok, another thing that bothers me about her. She's once pronounced herself as "half Jewish", spamming a Jewish information site in the process (again, with the pretentious yuppie crap). Now, I know you can be half Jewish in the sense of living in two cultures, but hey, not really. Isn't there something fundamentally wrong with being both Christian and Jewish at the same time? Like... ummm... Jesus Christ? As I say, bullshit. One thing is my sole comfort: she isn't in love with herself/stupid enough to launch a CD, or a clothing line. If she did, I don't know what I'd do. Ok, so I don't hate her. That would be irrational. But she's overrated beyond belief. I've heard her compared to... Grace Kelly. WTF? I just say... WTF? That just satisfies my entire reaction, really. |
