ELEPHANT & CASTLE DAY NURSERY is part of WILLIAM WILBERFORCE LTD, company providing childcare and training/ assessment for NVQ qualification in Child Care & Education/ Playwork, Level 2 and 3. The company was founded in 1994, and is currently employing 45 people carring for over 130 children.The aim of the nursery is to provide quality care and education throughout planned play activities in response to each child's needs, likes and abilities, within a relaxed and constructive atmosphere and in full partnership with parents. Their wishes, views and comments are valued as positive feedback that helps nursery to achieve its targets. The nursery is well equipped to ensure at all times an anti - discriminatory and multi - cultural environment that helps children's cultural identity to be promoted and respected in the relationships between staff, children and parents, by the means of a wide choice of books, toys, music, food, visual display, festive celebrations. The settling in procedure is flexible and takes always into consideration parents' availability and child's social potential to adjust to a new setting. Parents are kindly advised to bring a child in before the breakfast (9.15 am) and to come for collection before 6.00 pm. and not after the closing time. It is also important that parents provide sufficient nappies, wipes, creams and spare cloths on a daily basis. Safety and security for children is the nursery top priority and special qualified staff implements comprehensive policies and procedure. A key worker system is in operation and monitored to reach accurate understanding of each child's needs, likes, abilities as a sound basis for future planning for proper care and education. Our own minibus ensures children's transport for trips and play areas, with your written consent only.
