Witnessed TRULY horrible music last night.The Walkmen were Amazing like the last time I saw them, but unfortunatly went on first. Hot Hot Heat, I mean come on...they're like The Strokes less talented Canadian cousins (if you can believe it). At the end of the show all these underage kids dressed in either really horrible 80's gear (yeah like they lived through it the first time and can actually remember how NOT cool that shit was when it happened) or the "Heartland White Trash Trucker" look; which admittedly was kinda cool a WHILE ago but had been done to death (by dumb underage suburban kids trying to look cool and poor). Why does everyone have to jump on these trains and ruin everything? Shit man, I feel sorry for kids that have looked like that for the last 8-10 years and have now had their look stolen out from under them. Anyways, they all jumped on the stage and danced, causing this hideous scene like Alterna-TRL watchers. Dumb kids stage diving , and the music.....the "music" was SOOOO bad, never have I felt so old. But shit, if being old and out of touch makes me see how truly ass the music was, then call me an old grumpy curmudgeon! I tried to give it a chance but gave up and just wished that The Walkmen had played longer. Shit, at least the ticket was free...mind you it almost wasn't worth sticking around for those bozos but whatchagonnado? There you have my nomination for "bands that suck", they had the look down and I'm sure they'll be the next big thing. Big hair, ties and hamming it up for the bitches....they'll be HUGE! The shit that gets by these days is truly amazing! I think I'd rather see someone like Justin Timberlake live, at least he makes no pretense that he's not selling out. Are they making these kids in some Alterna-TRL factory? It's like a recipe for something: take 4 twenty somethings, add big hair, skinny ties, poor musicianship, throw in a couple of dumb screaming teenage alterna-skanks and mix for total TRL domination.
