Hoover Building
9:00 am, A.D. Skinner's office

A.D. Skinner sat at his desk, leaning on his elbows and massaging his temples. On the other side of his desk sat his two favorite agents. Although, at the moment, he wasn't sure. It had been a long morning so far and this meeting was only an hour old. The X-File in question sounded painfully familiar. Strange lights had been spotted by local residents in a small Northern Pennsylvania town. He had tried to discourage their involvement from the beginning, but Mulder's near tantrum won out. What Mulder didn't know was that their boss let them go because he was close to strangling him and needed some time to cool down. Things went from bad to worse. Mulder had ditched Scully yet again, abandoning her at their motel. He had also managed to alienate the local police, damage the rental car and get himself lost in the process.

Skinner tried to rub away the growing headache.(Great, a 3 hour budget meeting in less than an hour, and I have this on my mind). "So, let me see if I have this straight. You, Agent Mulder, decided to ditch your partner after she concluded there wasn't enough evidence at hand to continue investigating. At 11:30 PM you left in the rental car, alone, to the wooded area of the supposed sightings. In the process of avoiding a deer, you ran your rental car off the road, hit a tree, and ended up in ditch."

"I didn't actually 'hit' the tree, Sir. I kind of 'bounced' off....."

"Mulder," Skinner ground out while lifting his hand. "Let me finish."

Mulder nervously glanced over at Scully and began to play with his tie.

Skinner continued, "After Agent Scully tried to reach you for almost an hour on your cell phone, which you managed to leave in the rental car, she called the local police to go look for you." Now it was Scully's turn to cast an accusing eye Mulder's way. Skinner ran his hand over his mouth and went on, "You left the car and wandered around the woods for over an hour, finding no lights I might add, and became.."

"Lost." Scully added, earning a glare from Mulder.

Mulder opened his mouth to say something and quickly closed it when noticed the look the A.D. was giving him.

"Scully and the police found you a half an hour after finding the rental car."

"Well, there was no moonlight that night sir. And I should have left the headlights on." Mulder mumbled.

"Mulder!"

"Sorry, sir."

"Well, agents, I have 30 minutes until my budget meeting, so I guess that will be all for now." Skinner said dismissingly as he gathered the papers on his desk. Mulder and Scully both rose and quickly made their way to the door. "Mulder, you stay." Mulder stopped in his tracks, head and shoulders sinking. After a quick glance back, Scully left the office and closed the door. As Mulder turned back towards the desk, Skinner was standing with his hands on his hips slowly shaking his head. "Mulder........ what am I going to do with you?"

All Mulder could do was shrug and look at the floor, "I don't know, sir."

"Come over here."

Mulder cautiously approached the desk. "Agent Mulder, I don't have time to deal with you right now, but I have a little reminder for you that we are 'not' finished yet." Skinner took Mulder's arm and guided him to the desk. "Take down your pants Mulder and lean forward, hands on the desk."

"But Sir, there are people outside the office." Mulder through in a pout for good measure.

"Don't worry, this won't make any noise. Do it Mulder!"

Mulder complied. He turned, facing the desk, undid his belt and lowered his pants. As he leaned forward he heard Skinner rummaging through the top drawer. He looked over his shoulder, but the AD had found what he was looking for and was now behind him. He felt Skinner's fingers at the waistband of his boxers and then they joined his pants at his knees. (SHIT) Skinner pushed up Mulder's suit coat and shirt and held it at his lower back adding a little pressure causing Mulder to bend further over.

In his hand, Skinner held a black sharpie marker, chisel point. "Mulder, I want this to remind you for the rest of the day exactly where I plan on expressing my displeasure with your actions later." Skinner drew a heavy line and then another, forming an 'X' on Mulder's left butt-cheek and then his right.

A slight moan escaped Mulder's lips as he realized what Skinner was doing. The lines were cool as the alcohol of the marker dried. Skinner, still holding Mulder's coat and shirt up, continued, "I want you back here in my office at 7:00 on the dot. We'll continue this discussion then." Skinner touched one of the lines, causing Mulder to flinch, "Okay, they're dry. Get dressed and I'll see you at seven."

Mulder quickly dressed and left the office too embarrassed to say anything. As he went by Kim's desk, he fought the urge to put his hands behind him. He felt like he had a sign saying "Spank Me" taped to his ass. He quickly made his way to the basement, avoiding all eye contact.

Scully watched him go to his desk, "So...... what did he say?"

"I have another meeting with him tonight."

"Just you?"

"Yes Scully, just me. Oh, and thanks for the support earlier." he added sarcastically.

"Always willing to help."

The day passed way too quickly for Mulder. He decided to spend as much time as he could at his desk. He felt like everyone could see those X's right through his pants. Besides, he probably wouldn't be doing much sitting later anyway. At one point he went to the men's room to check out Skinner's artwork. He rubbed a little water over one of the lines. "Shit, permanent marker!" (Great, this will be here for a week)

At 5:30 Scully left to go home patting Mulder on the shoulder as she left, "Good luck Mulder. See ya tomorrow."

"Yeah, if I'm still alive. If you don't see me again, feed my fish, ok?"

"Sure thing Mulder." She tried not to giggle as she left the office. (Well, after all, he did have it coming.)

Mulder spent the next hour and a half pacing the small office trying to come up with something that might save his, soon to be toasted, buns. At 10 minutes to 7 he still had nothing and decided to meet his fate.

Skinner's Office, 7:00 PM.

Mulder stood at Skinner's door. He almost couldn't bring himself to knock, but at the second try , he did.

"Come in!" rasped Skinner's voice. Mulder did and as he turned to close the door Skinner added, "Lock it."

Mulder came over to the desk and was about to sit down.

"I didn't ask you to sit, Agent Mulder."

Mulder straightened back up. He put his hands behind his back, looked at the floor and waited.

"Well, Agent Mulder, here we are..... again. I don't think we need to go back over anything, unless you have something new to add."

"No, Sir" Mulder mumbled, still not making eye contact.

"Okay then, let's get this over with. You do know why you are here and about to be punished, don't you?"

Mulder quickly looked up through his lashes at Skinner, "Yes Sir. My behavior on this case was not up to your standards."

"Not my standards Mulder, the bureaus standards. And I don't think now is the proper time for smart answers, do you?"

"No, sir."

"I'm sure you want to get this over as much as I do."

"Not really." he muttered under his breath.

Skinner chose to ignore the comment. "Okay Mulder, assume the position." (He always wanted to say that)

Mulder removed his jacket and put it on the chair next to him. He began undoing his belt as he neared the desk. Soon his pants were at his ankles. Skinner took the special 'Mulder' paddle out of the desk drawer and Mulder cringed as he saw it. "Boxers too, Mulder." Skinner added as he came around the desk. Another cringe and moan came from Mulder. Skinner put his hand on Mulder's back and with a little pressure had the agent nicely bent over the desk. He pushed his shirt halfway up his back and put his left hand on Mulder's right hip pulling him snuggly against him. Mulder was very aware of his naked hip against the slightly itchy wool trousers of the AD.

Mulder looked back over his shoulder at Skinner and asked, "How many?"

Skinner didn't answer. He moved a file under Mulder's nose with the words "EYES ONLY" written in red ink. "When your ass is the same color as those letters I'll be done."

"Shit!"

"Watch you language Mulder!" And with that Skinner landed 3 rapid smacks to Mulder's left cheek.

They took Mulder's breath away and before he could utter a sound 3 more landed on his right cheek.

"OWWWWWW! Oh, please! Not so hard!"

Four more landed, two to each side. "OWW! Ohhh, Sir! OWWW!! Stop!"

Skinner was not about to stop yet. (WHACK) "Mulder, (WHACK) you are never (WHACK) to leave your (WHACK) cell phone (WHACK) in the car! And never (WHACK) to piss off (WHACK) the local authorities (WHACK) again! Is that clear!!"

"OHHHH! YES, Sir! Please, stop! I promise! OWWW!"

"And NEVER (WHACK) EVER (WHACK) TO DITCH SCULLY! (WHACK) Is that clear!" (WHACK)

"YES, Sir, yes, sir! OW! It's clear! Ohhhh. I promise, please. I'll never do it, Owww, again!"

Skinner put the paddle down and helped Mulder to a standing position. "I know you don't think this is fair, but you just don't listen. I hope this will help you to remember to think before you act the next time Mulder."

"Yes, sir. I think it will." Mulder added while trying to rub some of the sting out of his backside.

"I hope so. And remember Mulder, those X's will probably take a week to go away so I'd be on my best behavior if I were you. Remember, X marks the spot!" Skinner chuckled to himself as he lightly slapped the closest X.

"Oww." (Great, now he's a comedian)
