Our story

It all began in 1987,  when we bought our first dog, a Newfoundland named  ULYSSE. Nathalie showed him in conformation and then in obedience to is C.D.X title. Some time later we bought MAYA, a female Newfoundland which  we bred  to Ulysse and  had two litters. We encountered  several problems  with this breed and  decided not to pursue with the Newfoundland breed.  Having made this decision, we started considering a smaller, one that we could keep in the house and would make travelling  to dog shows and obedience trials easier.

At that time a veterinarian, who was a friend of ours, told us she had a litter of English Cocker Spaniels. Going to see them meant falling in love with a breed that we have been breeding since 1990.

 Our kennel name, MALYSSE, originated from our two first dogs, MA for MAYA and LYSSE for ULYSSE, who have always held a special place in our hearts.

The foundation of bloodlines used in our breeding program are English ,  European,  American and Canadian.
